Currently i have a custom wc setup with one boneville rad and a mcp655, cooling a p4 3.2 and a x1950xtx. I have this system for about 3 years, no complaints whatsoever, but i'd like to jump in a dual loop... and one reason is simply to see the temp difference. The new setup will have a quad cpu and one of the latest gpus, probably CF or SLI (hence the dual loop). Within the loop im planning to include the motherboard chipset as well, since ill have the space to do this with a dual loop. Also, im not installing a res this time, ill do it the "t-fitting" way (double T-fit for each loop to be precise so that filling/emptying is easier).
__________________My problem is not only the parts of the dual setup but, most important, the actual setup itself, meaning im looking for a nice, tidy setup with minimum tubing going around, just like my current setup (ill try to upload a pic later). So, here it goes some of my questions: -Is MagiCool Xtreme Nova 1080 better (perfomance wise) than two Thermochills pa120.3 ? -Is there any case specifically aimed for dual loops? If not, which case would you suggest? -And since i want a tidy setup, should i go for 1/4'' or stay loyal to 1/2'' tubing? What should be the temp difference in a dual setup? Thanks in advance guys .

-2 thermochills would destroy a Nova. that said, get a Black Ice GTX. (reason)
-mind doing a bit of modding? (cutting fanholes) -Overclockers Forums -The impact of tubing sizes (i'd say go with 3/8" tubing on 1/2" barbs. it may be a little hard to get on, but some needle-nose pliers and hot water should do the job) also, for that setup, a single loop is more than sufficient. if you want to burn money, do it on a single loop with a GTX 480 rad, in a Lian Li Armorsuit PC-P80 case.

.2. Modding the case is no problem for me, my current setup is based on a TT Tsunami which is pretty much... "slaughtered" . And you're right about the size, i meant the burb size (1/2'').3. The case is very good btw. Bit expensive but plenty of space. I was also thinking of the newest TT Armor+ ... However i do insist on a dual loop. I have tried single loop... Anyway, do we have a temps between a dual and a single loop to compare?

if i were you, id get some of the 88CFM Scythe Ultra Kaze's (the 2000RPMs), and hook em up to a controller. put 'em down to 5v and i doubt you'd even hear them. do some gaming, turn up the sound, turn up the fans as well. i cant really comment on TT cases, i really dont like the way they look. i cant comment on their quality as ive never seen one IRL. If i gave you my opinion on them it would be biased, yet based on nothing. seeing as you are already using a TT case, I assume you like it. either way, just see if it can fit 2 rads. also interested in the single loop you used before. can you give me some details?

But if i get 80 CFM on 5V they won't give 80 CFM... so, what's the point. Instead you take low-cfm & low-dba fans without playing on voltages and you have the same (noise wise) result... right?
__________________But you really messed me up with GTX now . You really think a single GTX can handle cpu + dual gpu (no chipset in single loop) BETTER than a single PA120.3 ? For how many temps are we talking now?And im asking again, is tha temp difference between a single and a dual loop, say, 15 celcius? Or we're talking for a -5C gain in dual loop? ------------- PS: This is my cooling setup btw (since you're asking). It was (and still is obviously) my first wc setup with the help of OVN members and i can say that i did pretty good job for noob. I should upload a pic anytime i hope (mobile phone simply isn't good to show off the UAV glory ).1. Swiftech MCP655 12v DC Pump 2. Swiftech Apogee CPU block 3. Swiftech MCW60-B VGA block + 8 MC14 BGA Ramsinks 4. Swiftech MCRES-MICRO Reservoir 5. 1977 Boneville heatercore 6. 1977 Boneville heatercore dual 120mm shroud 7. Akasa 120mm Amber series 8. According to this review a triple magic cool is about 1.36C behind the PA 120.3 which is about .1C behind the GTX with 47cfm Yate Loons at 12V:
![]() http://translate.google.com/translat...hl=en&ie=UTF-8 That's about 21% less heat dissipated than the PA. So if you add 50% more radiator, my bet would be on the Magiccool, of coarse who know where restriction sits, but the GTX is restrictive also, you would just need to ensure plenty of pump and more fan noise too.

Also if you are looking at the GTX.
The breaking point between a PA120.3 and GTX360 is yate loons at about 1000RPM. I don't consider that very high speed for fans, but some guys are after total silence and even undervolt the yates.

don't worry, the 480 is a beast. it could cool skulltrail with some GX2's if it had to.
