OK just a quick question really. I don't know if it is just my set up or in general.
But i noticed the other day when my bird put the PC on stand by, the bloody pump turned off ![]() I was like click the mouse for it to come back into action. And i thought, wow that's strange. I know it is in a powered down stage but i thought the pump would at least be operational still. Also, is it safe to put the PC on stand by while the pump is turned off?

Though not much will be going on, i wouldnt suggest it...the CPU will still be putting out some heat, n if your water aint flowing its just gonna heat up

Get a seperate power supply just for your water pump/radiator fan that isn't affected when the pc shuts down or hibernates.

I leave mine on standby all day while I'm at work.

I suppose i could do that but it seems a bit OTTI wasn't looking for a solution (although they are very welcome and greatly appreciated) I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience. I just thought it was slightly comical for some weird reason as well lol Ahh good to know it won't break then. Have you ever noticed the pump shut off by any chance?

It probably depends on the radiator. I have a 480gtx which should be enough to passively cool the cpu.

even with no pump flow?
There's a difference between standby and hibernate though. My standby, everything is still on, on hibernate, pretty much everything turns off and your work is saved temporarily in the hard drive till you turn it back on resulting in a faster "boot"

CPU isn't doing anything in standby, on my PC I click the shutdown tab and hit standby, computer pretty much shuts down but it saves everything that is running, and starts back up in about 10 seconds and my CPU is cooler after a standby startup than normal idle.
