Hey I have a BIX 360 and a DDC 18w w/ petra top. Think those 2 items are up to the task of cooling my current rig with an additional SB and NB block?

Your wanting to cool a 4.3 gig cpu and 3 GPU's and a NB & SB?
That 360 will not cool all of that very well. If your wanting to cool all those blocks I would run 2 loops. One for the CPU and the MB blocks and the other just for the GPU's. Use 360's in both loops or larger.

He is already cooling everything EXCEPT the northbridge and southbridge. EK makes a block for the X2?
__________________If you are ok with the temps...you have maybe 400 watts there...adding another 50w or so shouldn't break the bank. If you are marginal...then you can increase your cooling with additional fans, a bigger radiator, or an additional radiator. Martin's phenominal spreadsheet say that will still have 1.6 gal/min, assuming the Fuzion is unnozzled. According to the spreadsheet you could add a 5.5mm nozzle and still be over 1 gal/min. A second pump in series would let you get away with a 3.6mm nozzle, still in one loop. If you don't have a backplate on the Fuzion, adding one would be a good first step.

thermalright hr-05IFX for the NB and SB and mosfets
![]() It'll be better than water with less hassle. And yes, EK has blocks for the X2

I agree that watercooling the soutbridge is overkill, but the northbridge could see benefits from it. If you're happy with your temps now, then just add a NB block. It shouldn't hurt temps too much. I do agree with Dr4gon on two things though. Get thermalright sinks for the southbridge and mosfets. The southbridge really doesn't put out that much heat.

I'd almost agree with the air cooling on the chipset, except the coolers are so damn large. the water blocks aren't much different in price, add insignificantly to loop restriction, and work as well or better, especially on the northbridge.
__________________That said, I have a Viper John block set for my northbridge, his heat sinks for the the MOSFETs and an Evercool VC-RE for the southbridge. I wonder if that will work for the Intel SouthBridge also. It was originally a vga cooler, and is only 15mm tall, fitting under video cards.

I use one of these on my NB..Swifty NB HSF..It keeps me about 2C over room ambient,of course my mem controller isn't on my NB either...Then one of these on SB..Enzotech SLF-1 Low Profile Copper Chipset Cooler...If I can cool it well enough with fans I use them, I don't WC for quiet anyway so the little extra noise from them isn't a issue....
The HR-05 SLI are very nice ones, I haven't used one, but everyone I know who uses it really likes it ...

Thanks for the response guys. However, throwing a big cooler and fan on the SB and NB is out of question. There just isn't that much room due to my razer being in the top pci slot above the first graphics card. I was going throw the enzotech sb cooler on the board, but it was not a perfect match and ek makes a wonderful SB block specifically for my board. So I did get the matching EK block for the NB and SB.
The parts I already ordered today: 15ft of 7/16in ID hose 12 Reusable 5/8 OD clamps EK Full cover HD3870 Block EK S-Max NB Block for ASUS X38 EK matching SB block 22g's of Ceramique I'm pretty happy with my temperatures right now E8400 = Who knows? at Full Load RealTemp suggests 53c @ 4.4ghz with 1.44v HD3870X2 = approximately 45c max on both gpu's HD3870 = around 35c max load
