I found this pump on amazon and was wondering will it be strong enough to pump to the cpu?
I know you gotta stick the water pump in the resercoir and I found a reservoir to put the pump in.and also I'm looking for cpu waterblock and I cant seem to find with 30-35 dollars range for lga775 can anyone recommend me one please? ![]() Thanks!

I would recommend not using an aquarium pump. The D-tek db-1 is a great pump and is pretty cheap. A good cheap block would be the apogee GT.

Not the best idea but if it matches flow rates of a DD pump or unit from Swiftech and has right size barbs then you could try it.
I would go with the above responce and be safe not sorry maybe.....

but does it have enough head? because that is a better measurement.
A decent cheap pump you could use is an eheim (dont know the model but it's doable and strong). The only thing with an AC pump is you need a relay for it.

AC pumps you need a relay and they dump a crapload more heat in to the loop. Not a good idea at all.

I would agree with using the Apogee GT for a CPU WC setup and the Swiftech MCP-355 (DDC) pump.
The DDC pump puts very little heat into the cooling loop while under operation. It's an excellent choice for longevity and has more than enough flow for your needs. http://www.swiftnets.com/products/APOGEEGT.asp ![]() http://www.swiftnets.com/products/mcp355.asp ![]()

You want at least 6-8' of head for a pump, and thats on the low side, but should be OK for a CPU only loop...The Via Aqua's and Hydor are 2 that some WC'ers use that are inexpensive...Be sure to watch for heat dump on the pumps, you don't want over 30W of heat dump going into your loop, any higher and it can hurt your temp's...What I do, and its just a rule of thumb, is to look at the wattage rating and figure about 3/4 of that will be going in the loop..Thats will give you just a rough idea because the design of the pump will have a lot to do with how much heat it will actually dump into your loop....
EDIT: I would be sure to keep aquarium pumps out of your case, they tend to leak.. Heres a link on Via Aqua silencing, the model # might be in there to I don't remember..How To silence a Via Aqua If you want o do it on the cheap a Bonnie core is a real good rad for cheap...Barbs for heater-core-fstfrddy ....How to make a dual heater core fan shroud..
