Default Another noob wants watercooling

So I want to watercool my media center/file server since this rocketfish case isn't that good for air cooling and since it has so much room inside, so that involves blocks for the e6300 and 2 G80 8800GTS's.

I'd like to stick to one loop consisting something like this (unless somebody tells me otherwise): Res, Rad, CPU, Another rad, GPU1, GPU2, Pump.

I am thinking of using two 240mm radiators. Unless 1 360 or 480 would be better.

I was thinking about a full coverage waterblock for the GPU's but they seem overly expensive. I then noticed on petra's shop these uni-sinks for the d-tek blocks. They seem pretty interesting but I don't really know if the d-tek blocks are any good.

Other then that I don't really know what I need. Budget <$400. HAVE AT IT.

Is this File Server going to be running 24/7? If so, I do not think water cooling is the route you want to take. You would be adding a lot of extra risks with running water cooling 24\7 in a server. My take on it would be to just use Air Cooling. I am sure a pump can handle being ran for a long time, but how long, I am not sure.

It is going to be on a majority of the time.

Are you saying that the majority of people with water cooling do not leave their computers on all the time?

I am sure people leave there computers on with water cooling. But I don't. I don't like having to worry about something happening, like... coming home from school or work, and finding out my whole rig is useless because of a pump failure or burst fitting.

I also game on it too. It's hooked up to my 37in LCD. I have an 8800GT in my other computer that runs dual monitors that I also game on and do other things.

People do it, as long as you have it set up right it should be fine, If you have a thermal shut off temp then you would hope everything should be good.

Oh and always place the pump after the reservoir and make sure the reservoir is a bit higher then the pump (that way the water will flow into the pump easier)
In your case I'd do this:
Res -> Pump -> Rad1 -> CPU -> Rad2 -> GPU1 -> GPU2 -> Back to Res

But I'd just have one big Rad in there or run 2 loops. But if you go one loop be sure to get a D5 Pump (you'll need some power ).

EDIT: Oh and I never leave my watercooled pc on when I leave for longer than 1 hour, even tho it's been running without issues since start, it's still a little scary
