I was thinking about this for a while and have seen this posted before. Also tried to search this subject on this fun filled forum but, no such luck. Anyways... I've heard that just distilled water ALONE is just as good if not better than coolant, or a mix, or ****tail of your own. Is this true? And if it is I don't mind filling the res up every few weeks due to evaporation.
Edit: I was also wondering what type of thermal paste is better for Dual Core Processors. Artic Silver 5, Ceramic based, something i don't know about? Of course I don't think I want a silicone based compond.

If the metals in the cooling loop are the same throughout, then an almost all distilled water can be used.
Two things to think about. During manufacturing of the radiator you have flux and braze impurities. This can be true with a cold-block that is brazed vs. screw and o-ring sealed. Another item is lubrication in the loop. Tubing can dry out due to age and with permeation. The pump operates better with flow when a little coolant is used too. A 10% Propylene Glycol and 90% Distilled Water will do well with a same metal system. If dis-similar metals are used, the ratio changes due to flow and the total surface area of the metals in contract with the fluid. Ceramic for non-conductive safe use if any flows onto the CPU contacts or MOBO. Nothing shorts out. There is a 1 or 2 degree temp lose in performance over AS5. Artic Silver 5 (AS5) for a die-hard OCer looking for the Nth degree to squeeze performance.

X23-7804E3 (Shin-Etsu MicroSi) has been proven to be the best TIM out there...
http://www.overclockers.com/articles907/ and there is another one where it came out on top too, but I can't find the link...

I would recommend using distilled water and some kind of coolant. I would use 2 drops of PT nuke
And some pentosin G11 Stay away from swiftech Hydrx, it leaves crap in the waterblocks. Same for fluidxp. Syrillian says that fluidxp also leaves crap in the blocks and it's very viscous as well.

so with the stuff from Petra's tech shop... what ratio are we looking at? 2 drops of the PT_NUKE but how much UV anti-agent to distilled water?
(I attempted something similar using coolermaster coolant and UV red dye and got a poo poo purple... you can see it in my rig pics, it cools great but looks like rat)

EXCELLENT! except im not sure we can get 1 gallon of distilled here as we go by litres. When its time to bleed my crap purple and reap some new coolant i'll give this a shot.

__________________http://redlineoil.com/products_coola...bCategoryID=31 "SuperCool with WaterWetter® (80205) is a pre-mixed coolant for motorcycles, ATVs, karts, generators, and other small water-cooled engines. This product doubles the wetting ability of water to improve heat transfer and reduce cylinder head temperature. Compatible with all glycol antifreeze and coolants, this product is blended with deionized and purified water and WaterWetter®, the most effective heat transfer agent available with corrosion inhibitors to satisfy the same ASTM corrosion tests which glycol-based antifreezes are designed to pass (ASTM D2570 and ASTM D1384). Red Line's WaterWetter® provides excellent rust and corrosion protection for modern cast iron, aluminum, and brass systems. Use with a long-life antifreeze if freezing temperatures are to be encountered. This product does not contain anti-freeze and its freezing point is 32ºF or 0ºC. Available in 1/2-Gallon containers."

I get mine at wal mart. I know that wal mart is international, but I have no idea if they are in Australia or not. I would search grocery stores and possibly even pharmacies for some.
