Default Project Ascension - Extreme Overkill

Okay, I'm replacing my TT Armor with one external PA120.3 (see Signature) with a Mountain Mods Ascension case containing two PA120.3s internal. Why "Extreme Overkill?" I plan to have two loops cooling one component each - a cpu in on and gpu in the other. Why? Uh, future growth, maybe? Actually, just because I can

Anyway it may take me some time to complete this build as I don't have as much free time anymore. However, I thought I'd go ahead and start a build log and just add as I move along.

Here are the components that have arrived so far. Here's the unpacked and unassembled Ascension:

[IMG][/IMG]

...And some components:

Here's a shot of the assembled ascension:

Here's a shot of the back. As you can see, you could add a third PA120.3, but I'll use those for exhaust fans:

...and here's a shot of it next to my Armor to give you a perspective on the size of this beast:

This may take me a couple of weekends.

Ah a fellow overkill case owner Nice watercooling setup, mine is coming in a few pay checks. I havn't decided if I want to do a 480 square rad in my case or just a single yet. Good luck, it should be a great rig.

I'll have to get a replacement (pre-drilled) from MM. What a noob!!!

The trick with drilling holes in plexi is to go VERY slowly.

I had read that and had the drill set to about half speed. Guess it wasn't slow enough, though.

not rotary speed tony, but rather the speed in which you lower the drill.

Often helps if you support the plexi with a piece of wood or something underneath it so that as you break through the other side of the plexi is doesn't put too much strain on it and cause it to snap/crack/pop!

I Think THAT would have actually been the right way to go. I was also using a unibit. If there's a next time, I think I'll support it with a piece of plywood underneath and use a hole saw - then cut thru the Plexiglas through to the plywood.

Anyway, waiting to hear from MM on how much a pre-drilled replacement will cost me.
