Default Bad temps?

Hello,
I recently built my wc setup with the help of you fine users, but I seem to be experiencing (among many other problems with my computer ) less-than-desired temperatures. What could be wrong? Do I need to wait for my tim to break in? Should I try to reseat? Am I just SOL?
I am running a loop cooled by a 480gtx with San Ace fans, with a dtek v1 block powered by a d5 vario.
My temps are ~27*c-32*c idle and 38*c-42*c load.
(Also, core one seems to always be about three degrees cooler than the rest, is this normal?)
Thank you

What are your ambient temps? Is your CPU at stock or OC'd? If it's OC'd, how high and at what voltage? Need some more info because at first glance those temps look fine to me. Btw, differences in cores is very normal, some see as much as 5-8 Degree differences even on water.

As Puffin stated....knowing the ambient temp would help as well as your overclock (if any)
Without more specific info I can't say those temps are bad.

And yes, the temps across the cores can fluctuate, that is normal. You can try to re-seat the block to get more even temps if it makes you feel better, but a waste of time IMHO

Okay, I am glad that the cooling area (probably) isn't messing up.
And ambient temp= the temp of the room, right? If that is so, i'd have to give a rough estimate of around 21-22. If more accuracy is needed I can measure when I get home tonight.
And no, no overclocking. I'm sorry, I'd thought I'd said that in the op

Are you sure all the air is out of your loop? If you can, shake your rad a little while the pump is running and see if you get any more air out...Really rock your box around to make sure the air is out of your block...

Did you clean out your Fuzion?...D-Tek Fuzion install tip! (Or why you should clean new blocks)

Do you have a good mount? I will usually do 4 or 5 re-mounts then work my temp back down to the lowest one...Look at your TIM spread when you take your block off and see if it looks nice and evenly spread, its hard to tell sometimes, so gently remove your block...

My temp's will usually drop a C or two when the TIM burns in, I use AS5..

Generally, expect a 10-30*C difference above ambient when under heavy load. Of course, this will all depend on your block, how many components are you cooling in the loop, coolant, degree of the overclock on the components being cooled, etc.

Have done before, but I was kind of timid because it is in a hard position to be really rough with it, maybe I'll try it again with another person to help me (my case+ radbox/shroud thing is really big)

I probably don't, I think I might, I am just scared to do it with water in the loop.

I did too, I just assumed that AS was still the best, and the different types didn't really matter, so I didn't do much research. I'm glad to see that someone is using it and I didn't make a big mistake
