Default Red water in green coolant?

Hello,
I just thought this was pretty wierd. I have been working on my watercooled Cosmos for a few days now, and i noticed in one section of my loop, the water was a pale red shade. I am using Primo Chill UV Bright Green coolant, so it is very unexpected.
Here is my loop:
EK Supreme Waterblock
Black Ice GTX240 Radiator
Thermochill PA160 Radiator
D5 Vario Pump
Ice Box Dual Bay UV Green Reservoir
Is there any chemical reaction occuring for the strange color?
There is only one explanation I personally can think of; I was cutting tubing with a knife and i made a deep cut in my thumb. I continued to work anyway. Maybe I somehow got some blood in to the loop. If this is the case, is a bloody loop bad for cooling? I am short on liquid so I really want to waste anyway. Guess I dont need any of the FluidXP Blood Red.

It looks a lot redder in person!

Just that section is red, since it is the bottom of the loop, so I guess it drifted down.

The only thing i have mixed is brand new Primochill with 2 months old Primochill.

Im pretty sure its blood, because you can see some in the picture is you look closely at the fitting, is blood bad for cooling?

..Well i dont think it will do any good..and i dont think mixing old coolant with new will do you any good either. Get rid of that stuff and just get some distilled water...also hows that EK supreme doing for you, ive got one and i think its pretty frickin sweet.

I like my UV Green coolant, I really dont feel like getting rid, especially since Ive spent a good amount of money purchasing it. Yes the EK is very nice.

IMO, if you bled out for a while and filled you loop with a lot blood and the rest water then I would agree.. But I doubt that's the case. If it were blood then it most likely would mix and go un-noticed..

Colors can separate from each other as well, but in your case I would bet that the problem is a chemical reaction with the different metals your system is using.. I suspect that brass fitting you have right before the red fluid..

As for your main question about blood in a loop:
Who really knows? I don't think blood has been used for cooling before (your the first, lol).. The only real consern I can think of with such a little amount of blood would be contamination.. If you introduce living orginisms into water they can grow.. But if you have antifreeze or other treatments in the water then I doubt that its any issue.. Short of the long, I really doubt that little of blood could harm anything..
