i will do that. i will hook the freezone back up, run prime 95 and post a screen shot. Ambients were around 75 degrees.

75F is 23.89C...They are right, you need to compare the rigs at load and see which one gives you the best load temp's after an hour or so of Prime large FFT's, or TAT...Measure your load temp's delta from whatever the room ambient is to your full load temp......

ok. I just un-installed the water loop, and put the Freezone back in. Here is the results at 45 min of running Prime 95, large fft. The load temps are higher than i thought they were. Anything else i should test before permanently removing the Freezone?

Here is the thing I wonder though. When I had a Q6600 running at 3.6, my idles were in the 33C range and load between 49 and 52C on all cores (using orthos). with ambient of around 23C.
__________________This was on air with a TRUE. If the freezone matches the performance of a $50 air cooler how could it be a logical choice? Water cooling is a similar issue. High end water cooling should provide better load temps than a TRUE but not by much (couple of degrees). The TRUE typically beats the Freezone at maximum overclocks. The Elite, I can't speak to but the two reviews I have read put it slightly ahead of the Freezone. Again its a bang for the buck issue. 8x the price for similar temps? I don't think so...

__________________Bjorn's review A Big Typhoon VX matches its overclocked performance. the TRUE eats the VX for breakfast.... "CONCLUSION We have attempted to test the Freezone Elite against some other common coolers people use to show how it stacks up against the competition. Basically the Elite is a software controlled, more expensive version of the Freezone. There are no differences in design of the two outside of the software and the sort of money this unit is going for is very hard to justify for the performance gained. I don't see people buying this kit to use at stock speeds. People will undoubtedly want to overclock their CPU's We used a 45nm quad-core which doesn't put out the same levels of heat as the 65nm versions until overclocked. This is where things really fall apart. As shown in our testing even a basic water cooling kit can hold the temps to a lower level at load and the added noise from the Freezone Elite is frankly too loud to be used without headphones. Not to mention that even a mid-range air cooler like the Big Typhoon VX can almost match the performance of the Elite at load when overclocked. At the end of the day it is hard to reccomend such an expensive unit with such a low level of performance. Let's wrap it up."

yeah, i agree with that review. I am now going w/c with a cpu loop, and then expanding to the GPU's, so i no longer need this. i did not think it was too loud, but i am used to the noise of fans, so it did not bother me as much. Thankfully, i got it at a good price, so it was not much of a waste. I would not spend the 300 + they are asking for the Elite. I think this is more for people who want a watercooled PC, but do not want to risk actually making a loop, leak testing etc. I loved the simplicity of it.
