Here is an interesting review with quads.
They have a QX9770 running at 4ghz with load temps at 67C The second pic i attached is my load temps with the thermalright SI-128 SE (not as good as the TRUE) http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews....d=546&pageid=7 The fact that they compared it to an AC7 Pro (and defined the pro as "a high specification air cooler", lol) is pretty pathetic. The AC7 is decent with dual cores but cannot compete with Tuniq, big Typhoon, TRUE, SI-128 etc. Even the stock heatpipe cooler that came with my QX9650 gave me better results (I have an AC7 on my kids cpu). You will note in my pic below (my quad at 4ghz) that my load temps were far lower than 67C posted by the Elite at the same overclock....

Lol, they are canadian too (vancouver). I read that review also. The issue here is that they only tested a dual core chip. I actually owned the X6800 (attached is a pic with the cpu at 3.46, the closest I have to the 3.5 they tested their chip at). Their load temps at high fan speed were impressive (although its too loud to be practical). My temps below are with a Thermalright 120 (the older non ultra extreme model). Not trying to ruin your day but I did a fair bit of research on the CoolIT products as I build high end custom rigs for customers here in Canada. Didn't take me long to see that they were not worth the huge price premium. Now, I do know how to build a custom TEC setup that will blow any air cooler away but its much more complex.

I have a reseller license so I get parts at cost. Plus, I order quantities (usually if you buy 5 motherboards of the same model for example, you get about 10% off the total) so I tend to order myself an extra to play with and then sell when I get itchy again

Then I will fair to say my experience with 2 air coolers being the TRUE lapped and a Zalman 9700 could not produce or create a stable environment via Prime95 at anything near 3.9Ghz like the Coolit I am running now is. I've had nothing but great results after a bit of fussing around with it than those air coolers. Maybe I have money to burn but I really like this unit and it's performance. Real world performance is always different from reviews on paper. Call Coolit and ask for a demo unit to test, try it for yourself with your experience you could probably set that up quite nicely. Maybe I'm just having great luck with this.
Hey Toronto Fella !!! Just noticed ![]() I could have called you to build a custom TEC or WC setup then eh, I'll know for next time, you're just down the road from me. If you're a Leafs fan...You're Fired !!

Montreal Canadians fan actually
__________________The CoolIT products are a great concept. They are simply overpriced. If you look at the Ultra Chilltech for example, its decent and sells for about $150. If they brought the products down to the $100 - $150 range, I would have less issues with them. At the premium they are running for though, you simply don't get your money worth. Incidently, have you tried adding active cooling on the NB of the Rampage? I built a system with the board recently (great board btw) but had stability issues with a Q6700. Modded a 60mm fan onto the NB area (the thermaltake model), and had no trouble with 3.8 on air stable. afterwards.

If Robilar wants a test unit, i would gladly send my standard Freezone to him for it. Also, Rob, i hate you so much. I wish i could just give in every time I get the itch for an upgrade.
