Thats worth it then. For $100, I'd probably have one as well.

Incidently, isn't your avatar Ron Stoppable? (I have an 11 year old daughter....)

I just about pulled the trigger on 3 BFG 9800GTX OCZ yesterday but I have decided to wait for the GTX260's.

I 100% completely agree on the price side as well, I hummd/hawwd on this and just closed my eyes and bought it anyway. No harm really I just liked it and wanted it, was easy to install..., so far to my liking, it's working great and performing as well as I had hoped.
Habs fan myself
I haven't had any issues with NB temps it seems, so I haven't tried any active cooling, just lock stock and basic changing values that's about it.

Thats a good vcore for 3.91, especially with a Xeon. Do you have loadline calibration enabled?

Here is mine at 4ghz (24 hours orthos stable)

No, it is Hank Venture (from Venture Brothers), but i unfortunately know who Ron Stoppable is, my wife loves the Disney Channel, and i am forced to watch that with her. My wife and your daughter probably watch the same shows. I am waiting for the GTX 260's as well (maybe 280's, we will see.)

I am just afraid the 280's are going to be too pricey for a small bump in performance over the 260's.

It will be nice to see some real benches once they are out next week.

I've been planning TRI-SLI for awhile now (just got my 1000w power supply last week, TRI-SLI certified )

same here. i got the Ultra x3 to prepare myself for some new cards. I would like to do tri-sli as well. I think i may stick with the 260's if the price is a huge difference. I will decide based on some benches which card i will get.

Yes Loadline calibration enabled. I used Orthos once but it never seemed to stress the cores anywhere near what Prime95 did. I'll install that again tonight. I haven't messed around with loading in a while, maybe I'll drop vcore again and give it a go.
The coolit was my last purchase for quite a while after going nuts for the last year, new house is almost ready and baby on the way so no custom WC loop even if I wanted to try for fear of getting fired indefinately.

You should add a sound card as well.

Onboard sound can use up to 10% of system resources during gaming.

If you go TRI-SLI, the Asus Xonar 7.1 is only $90 and will fit nicely into the little PCI 2x slot above the top video card.

It also provides better quality than the X-FI gamer

Hello all, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Michael and I am also known on many other forums as SKYMTL. I am also the Review Editor for Hardware Canucks. Let me preface this by saying I am not here to bash members nor to defend our review in a rabid fashion. Rather, I am going to try to set a few things straight since a few members brought up the post by Robliar regarding some pretty outlandish claims. Please bear with me.

Quote:
I've read that review. Its a bit of a joke. Not only do the other 8 or so reviews floating around completely debunk it but thats the only canadian review site that has reviewed the canadian Coolit product.
Out of curiosity, I would like to see these reviews you speak of. In addition, a Canadian site reviewing a Canadian product is no different from a site like Anandtech reviewing an Nvidia product. I fail to see how this makes us biased in any way, shape or form.

Quote:
also hardware canucks is based out of calgary just like coolit is. They also got the elite weeks before any of the other reviewers did. Coincidence? I think not. (I'm a lurker at their forums...).
This is an interesting claim since you will see on our forums that I am based out of Montreal while the reviewer of the Elite (Anthony or AkG) hails from the small town between Cornwall and Ottawa, our Admin hails from Vancouver and our other reviewers are from Halifax, Toronto Vancouver and Calgary. "Calgary based"? Where did you get that idea from?

Quote:
On top of that ,the only decent air cooler was the ultima 90 and they tested their setup with a DUAL core, not a quad. the coolit products are known to do well with dual core chips but choke with quads.
Nope. We tested at various overclocks on a dual core as well as a quad core:

Please look under Q6600 temperature testing:
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...review-10.html

I understand you are a long-time member here with over 7000 posts and I am someone with one post but I think you should take a good look at the review before you start claiming certain things.

Nonetheless, I am open to critique and would welcome any you have.
