I bought one, it definitely keeps the chipset cooler, but i can't say its enabled any higher frequencies... i'm still pretty stuck at 450 mhz

It's not worth it. You have a corsair nautilus? You should replace that instead of adding a NB block.

The P35 doesn't get all that hot. I would just get something like a Thermalright cooler and call it a day. I run one passively and temps don't break 35C.

I agree. For the P35 it really isn't worth it. For x38 and 780/790i it is though. My x38 north bridge was HOTTT on stock cooling which is why I added the nb into my loop.

I stuck a MCW30 on my DK and temps dropped from mid 50s to about 32c. I have some higher speed fans on the way, so we will see if they drop temps further. If you are getting a max temp of 36c I wouldn't bother though. The MCW30 is cheaper than most HSFs though, so if you do choose to upgrade you might as well. It is a high flow block and wont hurt your flow rate that much.
