disappointed with cpu temps !!!

should I be disappointed with these sort of temps ??
__________________I am only cooling the CPU I have a q6700 running at 1.42 (bios) about 1.41 in occt /cpuz in prime and occt I am getting 1&2 =61C max and 3&4 = 59C max this is with a ambient of 18c I have reseated my dtek v2 (quad plate) 3 times now using methods described in these forums I am also using artic silver 5 as thermal paste my setup is here http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...ml#post4070819 it seems a lot of people are getting better results with lapped cpu and tuniq towers I thought lapping would only get a 3-5c improvement ??? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

yeah that's a tad high considering your ambients... what are you idling at? that's a fairly good indication of how good a seat you did...

must be 32-34c at idle ,

AFAIK the Q6700 does not need 1.42V at stock speeds; I think it's more like 1.25V

Also, to the OP, those temps definitely seem high to me. at 1.55vcore my Q6700 loads at way less than that and that's with a GPU block in my loop. What is the order of your components? Also I don't know much about that pump, but that could be part of your problem.

if your going pump->cpu->rest of your stuff that could be a reason your temps arent as low as everyone elses, but that still seems really high. What is your liquid mixture?

Up until you said what your ambients were, i would've said "that's summertime for you", as i'm loading around the low 60's and the ambient is 30.
The DDC with a top is a solid little pump, so i would look elsewhere to start with. All fans are working to their full potential? are they all solid against the radiator. How far away is this external cooler you built? more plumbing = less flow. could you post a picture of the completed cooler's internals? are there any 90 degree connections, kinks, etc?

Discharge (at 12V): 950 lt/hour I am using Feser One Cooling Fluid - UV PURPLE about 1.2litres in the whole system . with 1/2" pipework if flow was to slow or pump not upto it - I would have thought the outlet pipe on the d-tek would be warm -- which it isn't really I am thinking I may have way to much thermal paste reading a few of the d-tek v2 installation info , I have a good flow rate and the reservoir is a tad higher than the cpu too , and I have had a sudden thought that I have not bled the rad which is a XSPC RS360 Black mounted horizontal flow is reservoir=> pump=>rad (in top barb out bottom barb ) CPU=> reservoir . going to bleed rad and re-seat d-tek with less goop tonight and see what happens thanks for all your thoughts

Did you clean out your new parts before you used them? Does it seem to be getting good flow? What cfm fans are you using on your rad?
If you didn't clean out your blocks you might have a partial blockage...Higher cfm fans might help, I don't know if that is a thick or thin rad, thicker rads do better with fans in pull...A shroud can help with thicker rads... What coolant are you using? If you have to viscous a coolant it can hurt temp's...Are you running your loop, res-pump-rad-cpu? You always want your res right before the pump or you can get crap temp's... EDIT: You just answered some of that...Yeah shake your rad up and see if you can get any air out, that can really hurt temp's...To much TIM can really hurt temp's also...
