it really is.
if you would just cut out the shapes of the dust from a sheet of paper.
and lay them where your fans go, you will see where 95% of your air flow is
and just how much of your radiator is not being used at all.
build a full size box shroud that will set your fans just 1 inch away and have the fans suck air through will improve performance a great deal.

Yea, I am planning on building a full size Shroud. It will be a while though. Because I am flying to Arizona for 2 weeks in a couple of days.

I thought you were making one for it last time? I'd just gut some 120x38mm fans if you have them...Thats what I've started using when i can find them cheap enough, they seem to work as well as the the aluminum ones I used to make...I know its sure a lot easier...

Yea, I was gonna make one, but after a while with work and stuff, I just forgot about it and put it to the side. Hopefully when I get back from Arizona I will have time to design and build something nice.

Its really worth it Pope...Did you ever see this where I tried them with and with-out shrouds on my 480?..Part-1-480 GTX-Temps W & W/O Shrouds. Those were not at a optimal 1.5" either...I used the two aluminum channel ones on one side now and gutted 120x38mm fans on the other and its knocked off a couple more C...With 4-100+cfm pushing and 4-100+ pulling i'm getting a 3C rad out to ambient delta with a 600W load on it...

Do you still have those old 4-pin 108cfm Sunon? If you do don't get rid of them...You cant get those anymore, the new 108's suck, they aren't anywhere near 108cfm...You bought yours at SVC right? Thats the last place that had the older ones..Those 3-pin 108's that they have at Petra's aren't any good, I tried some of them on a Chevette core and they didn't pull any better then a 86cfm Pana would...

Yep. I have 8 of the Old 4-Pin 108CFM Sunon's. 4 of them on my rad, and 4 on my Brothers PC (I built for his 19th B-day). I forget where I bought them. I'm sure I still have a email receipt. I'll try to find out. I am definitely going to build a Shroud this time around though.

This first one is a crappy one, these are the kind Petra carries, its a 3-pin and they are only 3.2W...I had these just blowing around on my mobo and never really paid much attention to them, when I stuck one on a rad is when I could tell how crappy they were...I just thought these had a new energy efficient PCB in them or something, they suck, and not in a good way either...

This is one of the old 4-pin good ones, they are 6.8W...Hang on to them, they pull as well as my 115 Pana do, good fans...I haven't been able ot find any of these now in a year or two...
