I personally would not be to concerned at stock versus stock. Mine stock loads at 55C at 3.5GHz it loads at 63C, 23C as well. From air that was not a great drop at the the stock speeds, a little believe it or not. IMO where water shines is when you overclock the chip, as evidence by the small increase in temps and a large increase in speeds. Overclock and see where the temps go.

^^^Yeah WC'ing will "Soak Up" v-core a lot better...HaHa..
..I had to say that, but it really does, WC'ing or TEC'ing is all about holding acceptable temp's with a higher v-core..

Forgot to add did you clean it out the rad and block prior to putting on the machine?

I flushed with some distilled water but didn't see anything at all come out. I still haven't gotten the time to reseat the block yet, but I will post back when I do with the results. Hopefully it'll be a little bit better.

I finally got around to remounting the block, I only noticed about a 2-3 degree drop in my load temps after an hour of prime. Which is something in itself I guess.
I did a before and after test, the ambient temps were approximately equal for both tests. I'm going to do one more remount tomorrow, I'm going to mount without the apogee gt spacers (the spacers between the mounting plate ant the mobo) to see if I can get a tighter contact. I think it looks these will be my final temps: (All temps in celsius) Ambient:- 27 Before reseat Idle: 37 Load: 48 After reseat Idle: 36 Load: 45 These temps were taken straight after the reseat, so once the AS5 cures, I may get another degree or 2. I think when you consider how hot the phenom is, and I believe I got myself a hotter than usual phenom, these temps dont seem so bad. I'm thinking of upgrading the kit maybe next month, will probably get a d-tek fusion v2, a few more fans for the rad for a push pull. I think my pump is quite good so I'll leave it be as I really dont think that I have a flow problem. I listed my current kit in a previous post above. For now I'm going to begin overclocking this and see how far I can go.

Very cool! Glad the remount worked. That actually seems pretty good to me as I have heard the BBE 9850 runs pretty hot. Let us know the overclocking results and temps.

Will do, I'm having a go at it at the moment.
I'm setting 2.8Ghz as my 1st goal for today. I should get there with no problems. (Fingers crossed). Tomorrow I want to try and get it up to 3Ghz, fully stable. Next weekend I'm going to try to go for max stable overclock if I don't hit it this weekend. I'll post temps, voltages etc at each of the steps as they may come in handy for someone else.

You'd get better temps if you switch to MX-2. No curing required with it as well.

I've been hearing good things about MX-2 for sure. I'll definitely be looking for a new TIM. I've had AS5 for so long now that I can't remember using anything else...
