Well got home today and my computer was off (usually runs 24/7), the one in my sig. So I am like ahh well started it up and got online, was dinking around for about half an hour and finally got a bsod. OK this is odd so booted back into bios and checked the oc and settings and took a look at temps ....
103C (guess thats as high as the temp reading goes), so still not sure if it was accurate I reached down and felt the water block and sure enough it about burned a blister on my finger. I turned it off and felt the tygon and the outlet and inlet sides were extremely hot and felt the pump. The pump was really hot and the chord coming from it was blazing also. Needless to say replaced it and all is well I hope.... I guess these things are suppose to turn off if they get to a threshold that can cause damage. Guess next time I should use the thermal limit LOL. ANyways the pump I have had for about 4yrs running on and off 24/7 for varying lengths of time. No descernable damage or blockage of the pump. Must be the motor is what Im thinking. I run distilled water with about a 5% antifreeze. Not sure about point of this thread but I think these little E3110's are pretty tough I hope.

Well you got a lot of good use out of your D-4...I bet your chip will be fine, its got to be a tough one to go that long, that hot, without blue screening you....

Glad you didn't boil a hose off or something, but that's pretty good. 4 yrs 24/7 would be about 35,000 hours and the D5s are speced at 50,000 MTBF so it's not too far off.
I've had three D5's one that over a year old now that are still just as happy as can be.

Hey Max, Did your PCB look burned on it? One of my DDC's that died had a burn on it, the other one the PCB looked fine...Just curious...

Sorry Ira I didnt even take it that far apart.
One thing when I restarted my system was the pump just got really hot but wasnt turning. The wires leading to it were pretty darn hot as well and the molex connector was a light brown evidence of getting way to hot. I took it apart far enough to see if it had any obstructions in it that could of caused it to seeze up but there werent any, pretty clean.
