I'm about to pull the trigger on some Ultra Kazes but I'm not sure which are the best ones for me. The 3K RPM ones are out of the window...for sure. As it's stands, there's only a mildly overclocked Q6600 in the loop so I would think the 1000RPM versions would get the job done. If I added anything to the loop it'd probably be a vid card which would have me thinking about another radiator anyway. Are the 2000RPM fans too much? I am also buying a fan controller that can dial them down to their minimum operating voltage.

The actual questions:

-- how far can you dial down a 2000RPM version?
-- how loud (in comparison to other PC noise) is the 2000RPM in all it's glory? Louder than a Raptor? Heard from another room?

I would go with 120mm Yate Loons. Ira-K will most likely have a better suggestion though.

I've got the Hi Speed Ultra Kazes (6 of them), but have them on a good Fan Controller. Rarely run them full out. Look at Martin's latest MCR-320 test and see that the Ultra Kazes are real winners with this rad:

With about a 200W heatload, you don't have that much heat to really need the Ultra Kazes, you could get there with medium speed yates just fine. Personally I couldn't put up with the 3000RPM noise anyhow, even 2000 is too much for me...1500 would be alright.

I also have one of the 1000RPM Kazes sitting here that's extremely quiet and probably has pressure/performance similar to a slow speed yate.

I'd go for 86cfm Pana..86cfm Pana..Just put them on a rheo and dial them down a little if you need to...I'd stick with 120x38mm fans because they have a higher pressure and scavenge air through your rad better...With a Swifty it might not make as much difference since they have a low fin per inch count...

Or run the little YL's and put them on both sides of your rad in a push-pull...A shroud might help a little on a Swifty, I don't really know, I never tried them on the one I had...

EDIT" Ooops you said you would just have the quad on it first, those medium YL's are fine if noise is a problem to you, you can always go bigger or add 3 more in push when you add a GPU...If noise isn't really a concern I would still go with the 86 Pana, they aren't really very loud anyway, at least to me there not...

I decided to go with the 2000RPMs with the intention on dialing them down a little with a Zalman fan controller. As it stands the loop doesn't have much heat to deal with but at the same time I wanted a little extra headroom in case I decide to do something silly with that Quad

Nice find!!!! I've not heard of a 107 Sunon, I love the old 108cfm Sunon...They are 6.8W each, I couldn't see what those said on those...The 6.8W are like a 115cfm Pana, just great fans...

The 3.2W-108 Sunon, like they have at Petra's suck,they don't pull nearly as much air as they should...But still they are about like a 86 cfm Pana anyway, so for $4 bux each, thats a steal.....It looks like the wattage has a 1 at the end of it, if its a 6.1W I bet it would be a good fan....

Here are pic's of the 2 kinds I've used, they are both 108cfm, the only difference is the wattage rating on the fan, like i said before the 6.8W is a killer, hope you get those...
