Default might do some changing to WC loop

I am considering several changes but am concerned if its downgrades or upgrading

Consideration one: Tranding my D5 for the DDC/mcp355 pump with the reservoir top combo to ditch my micro res (takes up too much space)

Consideration two: adding a NB block to my CPU loop - this will be the Viper John block that has decently low restriction and I really DO need it as the fan is so incredibly annoying and still leaves my NB at 55*C and heats my SB to 53*C.. separating them will help noise issues..... but will a 240 radiator handle the OC'd CPU+ NB? as it stands my average load is 67-69*C but this is with 83*F ambients... Im soon moving to 70-75*F ambients when I move out for college

I want to do both at the same time, buying the pump new to avoid the popular dieing issue... however I dont know if what I am doing is smart or practical at this point considering the CURRENT stuff I got

As long as its not a real restrictive NB block you'll be fine, it will add a little restriction and heat, I bet it wont throw you off your temp's now over a couple of C ....

Man get a higher cfm fan for your NB HS......If its noise really bugs you WC it and don't even worry about it...

The new blue impeller 18W DDC w/top will be fine, its as good if not a hair better then a D-5 vario...So no worries there either since your cramped for space....

Well.... I have a 70mm... 6000 RPM... 55 dBa fan on there.... Don't you dare tell me I don't have enough fan on that NB.. Its even shrouded! So the only other option to cool it down would be WC or a massive heatsink which I won't be fond off it needing more fans

My radiator will get an improvement too since I will reverse the airflow to draw colder air and I am in the process of constructing a proper shroud (from STEEL LOL)

and how do i ensure I get a BLUE impeller pump? is it just a newer revision? Im going to be buying this from any store that offers the reservoir pump top along side with it to save on shipping

TEC on it maybe.........WC it and don't even worry about it if its running that hot..You already tried a HSF and its not doing the job...

Yes Sir, Any new DDC from a shop will be the new blue impeller pumps...

Hey good deal, I bet that will help some right there...I used to make my shrouds out of aluminum channel, they worked great but were a pain since I had to cut out all the semi-circles in the faces so it wouldn't obstruct fan air flow...

He a guy linked these yesterday..FAN1091120mm 12Vdc - FAN1091.I ordered 4 to gut and I think I'll order 4 more before they sell out...They make nice shrouds gutted...They seem to work about as well as my aluminum ones and are a whole lot less work.....If they are the older higher wattage Sunon they make pretty nice rad fans to, the newer 3.2W 108cfm Sunon suck, they are only about like a 86cfm Pana, but hey at that price they are even cheaper then the 86 Pana...

I am not too fond of the idea of using another fan as a shroud because it leaves that dead spot slightly between fans.... I don't know if I am being paranoid but I think it will probably be better too (aesthetically) to use a shround... i have left over steel so its costing nothing

My current Rad fans are Scythe Ultra Kaze at 133 CFM and they are fine at full blast so I am fine with them... I would only think about upgrading the fans for something like 150-180 CFM lol

And TEC is rather out of the price equation.. as it stands, the pump swap is $120, and the NB cooling will run about 90 for all the parts (block, SB solution, and vreg solution) so I am looking at around 210 before shipping costs.... then I sell off the D5 and Micro res, thats about $70 return if I am lucky

I don't think it hurts it, thats what I was saying, they seem to work as well as the custom ones I used to make...I didn't see nay rise in temp's from using gutted fans..

I was kidding about a TEC on the NB, though it can be done...

I use 115 Pana as rad fans...I've been trying to work up to the 150 cfm Delta 3 blade high pressure fans, they just have that whine to them, I don't know if I'll ever be able to get used to them..Delta EFB1212SHE 120x38mm .They pull some major mm of H20...I have a couple of them here that I turn on trying to get use dot them every now and then...

as it is, i plan on keeping my fans... just a matter of hoping they perform well enough

Im gonna work on the shrouding design but I dont think I plan on cutting holes.... I might make a sort of "box" thing thats just opened up if you get what I mean.... It depends on how much material I have but the cutout idea would use too much metal and I want the shrouding to cost next to zero

thanks for the help man!
