Default Can someone help me pick parts for good water cooling system?

Yea, I'm planning on going watercooling...what can I get for around $200? Would I need to splurge more? I just need my Q9450 to stop being 55 degrees idle, and 65-70 on load...I want cool, and I want more overclocking ability...

Can someone explain the basic parts, and help me choose, preferably from newegg or microcenter, as I can run to microcenter in an instant.

Thanks a ton!

petras and dangerden are the places to look from what people say, Whatever you do don't get a kit nless its the one that the pros here say is ok.

the best thing to do is just part it together and you can do it for 200 or about that I believe.

you need a Water block, a pump with at least 10ft of head, about 15ft of tube, and a rad. the rad needs fans on it and you need some auto hose clamps or zipties, some AS5, some ptnuke and some distilled water. oh and a res or Tline for bleading and filling. Did I miss anything?

DON'T BUY A KIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this ever comes back in stock, and you upgrade to the QCR 320 this is a good kit. Best of the two by far. For Under $200 I would suggest the H20-220. Not the best kit but a decent enough starting point, that should be able to handle a Q9450, not sure though.

Yeah really theres good kits and then horrible ones. Swiftech makes good kits as they also make alot of great parts so it goes hand in hand.

STAY AWAY FROM THERMALTAKE....never go cheap with water cooling.

Petrastechshop.com offers custom kits which are great but maybe a little over your price range

Yea there are bad kits and there are good kits. Look at the spec at on the Ultra at Swiftech and almost everyone here will say it is a great bang for the buck. It keepsd me idle at 18c and load 25c. when I push and run 3.5, I have a idle of 25c and a load of 38c. He can not go wrong with the Swiftech Ultra.

Honestly dirtyduck your not even a person who uses watercooling, The swiftech kits use one of the best pumps, best water blocks for the price, decent radiator, and all teh extras needed.

Thats a good thread for you to read, Read ALOT about this subject and try to just learn the basics as they are reinforced like crazy
