Selling my MCP655 and "upgrading" to an
MCP355 with petrastech's revised ddct-01s top. wondering if 1. this is good for a 2.120,cpu/gpu loop in a small environment? (better than d5?) 2. heard audible problems with mcp350/mcp355 ?? (i have petr'as gel stuff too) 3. would this be a stupid idea a.k.a downgrade?

I don't think it's any louder than the D5. They're about the same when it comes to noise. Although I do have a gel pad....
IMO, it's not worth it. I think the D5s are actually more hardy and tend to last longer

Yea if your going to get the Orange impeller one, it will be more powerful is max head wise..but they arnt very reliable..if you get the newer blue impeller ones, they are very reliable and are a bit weaker than the D5..they maybe quieter aswell. Also if you are going to sell your D5, im looking for one..so let me know and i may snatch it off you.

Unless your doing it because the DDC is smaller, and will fit in your set-up better, I wouldn't bother...They have about the same performance, but you have to buy a top for the DDC. The D-5 is a reliable work horse of a pump...

I can't help much with your question of performance, but if you decide to "upgrade", I'll trade you my MCP355+DDCT-01s for your MCP655.

thanks for replies.
the only reason i was asking is because i just sold my d5 for $50 and bought an mcp355 with the ddct-01s top for same price. Im pretty sure it may have the blue propeller. the d5 is a big bad boy, im just wanting something else now so i may just sell the DDCT-01s top ![]()
