Default WC Loop Help, is it enough?

Okay I havnt started up the loop yet nor have I tested it. This is my first time going with water so I'm curious if this will be enough.

Waterfall Res>D5 Vario Pump>480GTX Rad>E8500 CPU(Wolfdale)>280GTX Full Block>280GTX Full Block(SLI)>Res.

Will this be enough, the blocks I have are very low restrictive, D-Tek and EK. Just curious if the pump will be able to do this, and if the Rad is big enough/strong enough for the job. Also if there is a problem with my loop please say so as I am new to this. Like if there is a better order, etc.

It's early in the morning, no need to bump it after 10 minutes.

It looks alright. I think it should work pretty well. Order is good.

What CPU block are you getting (you didn't mention). D-Tek fuzion (you said d-tek)? That's a good block. So it looks like you know what you're doing.

Looks like a good loop. You've got arguably the best pump for the job, and a hell of a beast for a radiator. You should be fine. What fans are you running on the radiator?

As far as I can tell... you are getting GTX280s in SLI with a presumably uberoverclocked Wolfdale?

I'm interested because I might get GTX280s and a dedicated loop.

When you get it done you HAVE to post pics as well

good loop, later on if you save up you could make an 2nd loop with an ddc pump which goes right to the sli gfx blocks.

Yeah I apologize it was early in the morning and I've been researchin/trying to get my bases covered with my new rig.

But yeah I'm usin a D-Tek fuzion for my Cpu. I believe tomarrow I'll have it all set up to have it fired up so I suppose that will be the biggest test of em all. The 280GTX is such a amazing single gpu card that it is almost impossible to resist to throw another in there.

I have the 480gtx rad modded to fit on top of my Cosmo S so I have the fans on the Cosmo S under it pushin up as exhaust and then I have 4 fans on top of the rad also pulling heat away from it. Considering heat rises this I thought would be the best setup considering I'm basically just adding a lot of help with fans to the natural physics of heat. All of the fans that I'm using are 120mm Slipstream fans. I think by the time I got everything figured out this up comming weekend I'll be messin with overclockin. This will be my first time with a E8500 but I heard that I shouldn't settle for less than 4.5GHz with the setup I've got goin. Also within the next couple days I'll get a few pics up here as well =p

Loop looks good, you got some nice parts there. The 480 rad will do just fine considering the heat-load. Your 45nm CPU doesn't run particularly hot compared to 65nm quads or duals. Your GPUs will dump much more heat into the loop than the E8500. Also as far as overclocking goes, the Wolfdale chips seem voltage-limited (careful here!) rather than temperature-limited, so trying to apply the maximum cooling power of your loop to the CPU won't necessarily mean you achieve a higher stable OC.

Have you considered placing the rad between the CPU and GPU's in your loop? This would mean that the coolest liquid would pass through GPU blocks 1 & 2 first, in which case you may be able to push the GPUs to higher clock speeds.

-You know I have been considering this, but if it is like you said then the CPU shouldn't be dumping much heat towards my Gpus. Then when my Gpus dump their heat it then goes through my res then cools in my rad. The setup that you are telling me is a

Res>Pump>CPU>Rad>GPU>GPU>Res>Pump>CPU

....and with that I'm not really to sure how much heat will dissapate considering there is nothing there cooling the water between the 2xGPUS's and CPU except for the little lost on the way.

You are right, in that scenario (rad between CPU and GPUs) there would be no thermal dissipation between the GPUs and the CPU (a very minor amount of heat will be added by the pump). However when you consider your original plan (rad before WBs) there is still no thermal dissipation between the CPU and GPUs.

In fact, since you only have 1 radiator, loop order matters very little as there is only a single point in the loop where heat is removed. As long as you place the reservoir directly before the pump (for priming purposes) you should be fine.

Personally, I would place the rad between the CPU and GPUs, however, I cannot guarantee that this would provide the best performance across your system. The only real way to find out the best configuration is by testing. Also consider which configuration will use the least amount of tubing as this will help marginally with flow-rates...

EDIT: Also you will get the best performance from your radiator if you use 120x120x38mm high static pressure fans.
