Figured out that the stability issues were most likely caused by a faulty driver (even though I reinstalled them once)

Reinstalled updated drivers from nVidia a second time and now the OC utility and system seem more stable.

I've still got the issue of the heat from the vid card though. I guess I didn't realize how much heat that thing puts out... I still get that audible buzz when running 3DMark06 (I dont dare install Crysis for fear of the PC melting)

So i've got two choices it seems.

1. Re-work the cooling system into two loops, one for CPU and one for GPU (more expensive and annoying)
2. Add another Rad somewhere...or figure out how to mount a dual 120mm (240mm rad?) on the back..

Anyone know if theres a rad that mounts to the top of the Antec 900 case? I'm sure the 420mm fan would cool it down lol.

Any ideas??

Yes, the mobo is a horrible overclocker, the 570 chipset was junk for overclocking. I had a 570 board for my old AM2 system.

Good luck breaking anything over 280FSB.

lookin at ur OP n this thread, i'm gonna guess that u still have that single 120 rad running both ur cpu and gpu?

if that's the case, u need at least a 240, but more like a 360 rad. or u can add a 240 rad on the back of ur case with 1 of those rad box extension pieces that mounts 2 ur rear exhaust fan.

Yep. Only the single 120 *sighs*

After reading some reviews I'm going to RMA the MoBo and GTX (just to be safe) for the same card and a different MoBo.

(I can't even get a stable 3.2Ghz out of this thing!)

Can anyone recommend a chipset that OC's decently for the AM2?

Will have to look into mounting a 240 rad box on the back like people have suggested.

Will update when I get more info.

Am I going to have issues with an nVidia based graphics card on a board designed for ATI Crossfire? (no ATi here )

I've heard SLI and Crossfire are basically the same thing but they have to be different in someway...right?

Hopefully they'll be here soon!

u shouldn't have any problems if u would've went with an amd board with an nvidia card, u just wouldn't b able 2 SLI that card cuz it's a Xfire board.

that doesn't look like a bad mid-range board ur getting, but personally i would've gone with the ASUS Crosshair II just cuz it's a higher end board. i don't like 2 skimp on things. but with either board, u'll still b able 2 hybrid SLI ur card with the onboard, or use the onboard 4 physx, maybe.

I'd say it's a mobo chipset issue...
