Ambient: 19C
CPU Idle: 24C CPU Load: 43C GPU Idle: 41C GPU Load: 51C E6600: 3.6GHz (9x400MHz) @ 1.425v (load) 8800GTS (G80): 621MHz core, 972MHz memory, stock voltage. Loop: D5 Vario ("5") -> 360GTX w/ 3x Panaflo M1 (pull) -> D-Tek Fuzion V1 (nozzle/washer) -> MCW-60 -> Microres -> D5 Vario ... Acceptable temps? Remount in order? Or am I just clinically insane?

A 24C ambient to delta load looks great to me with your OC. Later on I would go ahead and do a few remounts just to see if you can get it lower, right now I would kick back and enjoy a job well done for awhile...

Yea, unfortunately I don't have a temp sensor to place inline to get a rad out to ambient measurement...
One of these days when I'm not fishing...or working.

Wooooork...
...Please quit cursing... ...I was talking about your room ambient to load delta, your at a 24C room ambient to load, thats great with a OC'ed quad, I guess your having to bump up your v-core some...I need to do some re-mounts on mine I'm around a 20C over room ambient at load..But my IHS is cupped a little to, I'll have to pull it out and lap it, then try some re-mounts...I was in to big a hurry to start playing with it to want to lap it at that time... ![]()

I'm not on a quad. I'm on a dual.
![]() And yes, I realize I have a 24C ambient to load delta. But I thought the most accurate measurement was the water temp on the outlet side of the radiator relative to the ambient temperature, no? You keep mentioning a performance setup has 5C or less rad out to ambient delta. You've got me curious now... ![]()

My delta is 26.7, so you got me beat by 2.7șC.
e7200 @ 3.5Ghz Ambient room: ....27șC Air in @ rad: .........9.3șC Water @ Res:......12șC CPU Idle:.............13șC Full Load:............36șC So, I think you can forgo the straitjacket ATM. ![]()

..Yeah you might be able to get that down some.Did you straight-edge your IHS before you used it to see if it needed lapping? If thats fine and your sure you've worked all the air out of you loop I would try some re-mounts...Rad out to ambient is the best measurement of a rad's performance,and over all loop performance, well that and your actual CPU temp's.. .You really need to keep to a 5C and under rad out to ambient if your looking for higher performance...I like a 1 or 2 when I'm on plain water...I'm at a 3C rad out with my TEC when its running, bugs me to no end, but thats really good considering I have around a 600W load on it... The 5C is what Martin and I have kind of come to a conclusion on..If your at a 10C rad out there are HSF's that can get you that kind of performance.. I can show you how to make a inexpensive, pretty well non restrictive in-line probe, thats pretty accurate,if you interested...Its less then $30 for each one... EDIT: What v-core are you at Dryad? I've backed my clock back down to 420*9, and I'm still having to use a 1.32 v-core, I'm loading around 20C over ambient, unless my temp sensors are out of whack..

Yea, I'm not the best with fabrication, but you can go ahead and try to explain...
![]() I've lapped the CPU prior to installing the water setup, so yes it is flat. I'll just sit on these temps for a while then... if something goes wrong, I'll know because the temps won't be as good as this ![]()

All you need is a 1/2" T, then this for a probe..Temp Probe..This for your read-out..Probe Read-Out.
Put the probe into the T, place it so the tip of the probe will just break the surface to the water, you will need to cut the T down a little to get it right..When you geti t to where its right go ahead and use some clear silicone all around it, let it cure for a couple of days..Then I use some heat shrink around it, go all the way up over the shoulder of the probes top, that will help to hold it well.. Then the read-out comes with a tape probe on the end of it, just cut that off and solder on a 3-pin molex to just 2 of the wires, I usually can find a 3-pin I've cut off a fain tail to use...The temp probe has a female 2-pin on it...Thats it... You can see one in this first pic by my pressure gauge...The second pic is of 2 read-outs that I cut into the front of my case... ![]() ![]()

I'd need a straight jacket after attempting that, now that I think of it (my handy-work skills are...well, they don't exist). I'll just let sleeping dogs lie for now
