Well with my new loop coming up i also wanted a Res this time and like the look and the functionality of the XSPC aluminum passive res because it helps temps just a tad because it cools the fluid a little too because of the aluminium fins..but from what ive seen the inside is aluminium too (i think) so would getting this res result in galvanic corrosion or am i ok??

It can cause corrosion if there's any type of scratches or over time.
It doesn't help with temperatures that much (the walls are too thick and surface area of the water is way too low).

Thanks duckie..i think i ill give that a miss and just go with the bay res. Btw im thinking of going with the Feser 1/2" ID Compression fittings, are these any more restrictive than normal 1/2" barbs or are they more restrictive?

You'll have a little less restriction with a compression fitting then with a normal barb, its more of a straight shot for the water with the compression barb, not as much tube to barb turbulence with them...
Cut the ends of your tubing as square as you can get it using them, they can be a bear to get sealed right sometimes if they are not..I'd probably break down and buy a tubing cutter so I would get square cuts if I used many compression fittings..

Ahh thanks alot Irak..less restriction the better and those feser compression barbs are only like £1 more than say the DD fat boys. Also by cutting them square im guessing you mean that the cut is perfectly perpendicular to the tubing, in that case ill just use my mini mitre block and stanley knife..thanks again!.

Not that it matters much since you've already made up your mind but the reservoir you've shown in the picture there is an older model.
The latest ones have small fins on the inside of the chamber as well to increase water surface area! ![]()
