So i just got a used radiator in the mail today. First thing I did after opening the box was inspect the fins. There were a bunch bent ones, some a little worse than others. Pair of tweezers worked wonderfully to fix them. Then I check out the fins where "screw puncture" is prevalent. Sadly all 16 spots (MCR220) showed where a screw had make contact in various end results. Here's one that really makes me worry though. How will this detached fin effect performance? Will it leak or allow air into my loop? Your comments will help me decide if I should return this.

As long as the channels aren't damaged, your fine. Leak test it. Those bent fines make up like .05% of the surface area so your temps maybe .001C higher due to it.
You could complain and ask for like $5-10 back due to the shape of the rad.

Nah it should be fine..aslong as like duckie said the channels arent punctures because thats where the fluid flows through, not the fins..You wont see any noticeable difference in temps.

As said above, the fluid does not flow through the fins, just the bigger channels. As far as I can see from that picture, you're fine. My radiator has the same damage and it's negligible.

I wouldn't even worry about it, the fins are terribly easy to bend. If you handle the radiator at all overtime you'll sooner or later accidentally do some bending. As long as it doesn't leak from a screw impacting one of the tubes, it'll work like any other.

sweet ty for all the responses. i currently have it bleeding/leak testing atm and see a 6-7c drop in temps on just H20. Very satisfied atm
