Does this allow you to put your radiator outside of your case? I really don't have hardly any room inside my case for a 240mm rad and I really want to use one of that size. If a shroud allows it to be external, wouldn't you just use a 360mm then? I would like to go overkill if possible but like I said, I don't mind having the rad outside of the case but I want it to be safe and good for airflow. I figure with the shroud, you could set it on top of the case, table, etc and just put two 120mmx38 fans on it and just pump air through it bigtime!

That's a shroud for a 240 rad. You place it on the rad, then fans on top of it. It provices better cooling, ira-k has a big article on it in the water cooling section.

Shrouds allow fans to be provide better, more even airflow accross a rad. It helps eliminate dead spots.

shroud, allow for no dead spots on the cooling of the rad. i.e if you just mount your fan to your rad, then there will be a dead spot where it does not cool directly behid the fan motor. this prevents that.

Can you put the fans on top of the shroud and blow the air down over the rad and keep it outside of your case????

http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...ear-today.html You can see the Pa120.3 has two shrouds on it, and attached to it are 6 Panaflo 86 cfm fans.

i put it on my desk. about 1 foot or 2 feet from my case. if it is on my case, it would just suck up the hot air from the case and it would hinder the cooling. i sold that system to user Happy Virus and now i am just on air cooling.

I noticed in another thread that someone mentioned that pulling the hot air from inside the case would hinder the cooling and thats why I asked about just setting it on a table. I would be able to prop it up on top of my case. Is it better to do push-pull or just push or just pull? I dont necessarily want 4-6 120mm fans on a rad as that would be airplane style but I don't know what works better between push or pull?

Well the shroud gets attached to the rad, and fans get attached to the shroud. So for mounting on the outside of your case you would need a "radbox".
You attach the radbox on the back of your case where the fan hold for your 120mm fan are. If you are going to have a shroud, mounting on the back of the case might start to get really big... radbox, fan, shroud, rad... that adds up quick... You'd be better off to have it outside your case.
