Default Q6600 What comp for water cooling

Hi

I'm thinking of moving over to water cooling, I got 150 euro and only want to cool the CPU, am looking for someone to recommend a few parts, am concerned that kits are no where near as good as a self build but at the same time am weary of the different tubing and barbs i.e. half inch, quarter inch etc. If anyone has any suggestions it would be great. Also live in Ireland so any American websites are out.

PS I'm after performance + Looks
PPS Please include barbs and tubing with suggestions

Thanks a mill

A company which I have heard great and I mean great things about is swiftech. I have used LC in the past ( moved back to air since i got afraid of LC after my friend owned his comp with it ) and the system I used was the Swiftech H20 220 worked great for me and my temps were pretty freakin' good.

I would first read this guide by Tnb= Gir it helps you decide on good components so you don't end up with crap ones.

I don't know what sites ship to Ireland but this is what I would recommend.
Swiftech MCR220 Rad, Apogee gt cpu block or d-tek fusion v1, 1/2 ID tubing (I prefer Primochill), Swiftech MP655 pump, and some kind of radbox for mounting. This should give you great temps and allow you to jack up your vcore as I have done . Good Luck...

If your band new to WC, and want to get your feet wet like me.. But to lazy or not enough experience in WC.. Go with the Swiftech h20-220 Compact kit. I just got mine, and installed it last night. On air I was getting 45c idle load 75c in secs.. now on water, 30c idle and only 46c load

Those prefect temps, with only a $120 kit Beats paying 250$+ and maybe getting 4c cooler.

Something like this would be fine;

.. D-TEK FuZion CPU Block

.. D5 Vario

..XSPC RS360 Black

.You use this on 1/2" barbs... 7/16" Masterkleer

..Use a res or just a t-line with it.

..Automotive worm drive clamps or a few zip-ties on each barb.

..Fans..I wouldn't use anything smaller then these 120x38mm on any rad..86cfm Pana.

I'll leave you a few things to read and my cleaning ans set-up PDF, be sure to read all the stickies here also, theres a lot of good info in them...

..Water Cooling - In English

..Assembling your Custom Watercooling Setup

..D-Tek Fuzion install tip! (Or why you should clean new blocks)

.. Poll: Push or pull configuration for Radiators

..Part-1-480 GTX-Temps W & W/O Shrouds

..How To: Make any Sized shroud in 2 minutes

..How To: Build A Performance Shroud
