I am thinking I about getting a watercooling setup late summer/early fall this year. I am looking at getting a fuzion v2, MCP655, 240mm rad, and a Swiftech MCRES. I want to mount the rad in the bottom compartment of my P182, move my hard drives up to the top compartment, like this but without the 120mm rad in the back. I am planning on using 4x D12SLs on the rad. I was looking at the black ice GT stealth but was wondering if I should consider getting a thicker rad with a push pull setup, like the GTX, although I do want to keep the cost down some. I am also wondering if I should get the MCP655 vario or get the regular one and plug it into my Rheobus instead.

I thinking about squeezing every MHz out of it.
I think I might add a vga block at some point, not too sure, might add a rear 120mm rad if I do.

Your Rheobus might burn out with a D5 pump... I believe their startup draw is 24w. The non-Vario version is weaker than the Vario model. The non-Vario model runs constantly at the 4 setting (out of 5).

For a little itty bitty E8400, a swiftech mcr220 will be more than enough for you.

Man I don't know my E7200 runs pretty hot at 4g+...The GTX will do pretty well with 47+ cfm fans...360 GTX Beats PA.3 w/47cfm Fans. But I would at least use fans this size..86cfm Pana..You can always put them on a rheo and just turn them up when your benching..
..HWlabs 480GTX thermals-Martin The GTS rad you need at least those 86cfm Pana on it or higher, they have a high fin per inch count, they would make a decent CPU only loop rad with higher cfm fans, they are flow restrictive and i wouldn't use them on multi-block loops.Shrouds will help with them also.GTS Review I'd get the D-5 vario, its only $10 more then the "B" and and has around 30% more flow.Just leave it off the rheo.. Shrouds will help if have the room, I'd make room for them to if you can at all.. ..Part-1-480 GTX-Temps W & W/O Shrouds .. Poll: Push or pull configuration for Radiators ..How To: Make any Sized shroud in 2 minutes ..How To: Build A Performance Shroud What kind of v-core are you having to push to get over 4g? I have to use around 1.392 to hit 4141mhz...

Yeah my E8400 is running plenty hot right now and I have a good amount of vcore head room yet.
I completely forgot about the fans I got for free from a server we were going to recycle at work. I have 2 Sunon K1212s, 84CFM 38mm fans I could use as well. I have been running them at ~7v, could I run with the 2 Sunons pushing air through the rad and 2x D12SL pulling, whether the Sunons are running 7 or 12v? I am thinking with the GTX 240. Edit: I am running 1.280v in CPUz to hit 4GHz at the moment, I really wanna push my E8400 as far as I can, I don't see that happening on my NH-U12F.

I'd have the Sunnon pulling at 12v and just leave the low speeds one off, you could 7v the Sunon and under-speed them I guess, as long as they will do it...120x38mm fans have a lot higher static pressure and scavenge air through your rad better....
You might be able to use the low speed in a push if your just running 7vdc on th Sunnon..I just really don't know if they would do more harm then good...Doesn't hurt to try and see what it will do... Man you have a better chip then mine I have to push a lot more v-core...I might be able to tighten it up some more, I just started clocking Intels last Saturday, so I'm far from having the bios down pat yet...Real fun chip... ![]()

I'd love to run 2x sunons at 12v but in reality they are too loud, especially since I'll be living in the dorms again this fall so I'll be living in the same room as someone else. I am looking for a quiet WC experience, suppose I could have mentioned that in the original post. Thanks for the help so far!

Hey NP..As long as the Sunon will spin up at 7v you'll be fine, you might have to put them on a rheo and start then higher then back the voltage down, just remember to turn them back up before you re-start or they might not spin back up...Try the low speed YL in a push to if you want, it shouldn't really hurt anything and it might help...Play around with it...
I know how you feel about the noise, I can use my 115cfm Pana NP, noise isn't bad, throw some 150+cfm Delta up there and I'm ready to punch my ear drums out with a ice pick rather then listen to them very long... ![]()
