Default Need advice on watercooling components

So, I'm interested in going to water. I don't want anything extreme, I'm looking for simple, not flashy, low profile, and quiet. So far, here are the parts I've looked into,

Swiftech MRC120-RES

D-tek Fuzion V2

Swiftech MCP350

Swiftech MCW60

Now, I'd like to cool my CPU and GPU, for that I imagine I'd need a second 120mm radiator. I've already got some Scythe fans I could use on the radiators. I'm not sure which tubing would be best. All of the components seem to accept 3/8'' ID tubing. Would this be a capable setup? I've already got some Scythe fans I could use on the radiators

Edit: didn't really ask which tubing is best, and also I'm curious what kind of coolant should be used.

You will be disappointed with the 120 rad.

Do yourself a favor and get at least a 220 for a CPU only loop or a 320 for a CPU/GPU loop and run the the loop res>pump>rad>CPU>GPU

A single large rad is going to work better than two smaller rads.

but how much better? Also, I've got limited space, the case I have is an SFF, so, mounting even a 220 rad would be strange, as it would need to be mounted horizontally. Would it be alright to do that?

I agree with CD. I think air coolers like the TRUE, Tuniq, and Thermalright Extreme can do such a good job that they're giving a single 120mm rad a run for its money if not just outperforming it plain and simple.

It's fine that you have a SFF case; just get a Swiftech RadBox and mount a dual-120mm radiator off the back. I'm not sure if you have any reservations of about having a radiator mounted like that but from experience it performs. Clean, simple, and it works.

Gotta agree here, the 120 rads just aren't enough if you really want to push it. I got a 220 now and am looking to upgrade to a 320 myself.

If your serious about watercooling then go for it, but if you really need good cooling due to overclocking then really do it, but if your not into that then I would just air cool for sure. But I have to say it was fun when I did my loop, and well worth it. Not only does it look good when your done, but you feel good knowing you have a monster so to speak.

So, I think I've changed my plan here. I may just keep the air cooling for the CPU, but water cool the GPU. Would the 220 still be required for a single GPU?

If you don't mind using higher cfm fans on it you can...Use something like this ..:120 - BIX Clone..With a decent cfm fan like this one on a shroud in pull..86cfm Pana...If that doesn't get you as chilly as you would like just add another Pana in a push also..This would be a better fan for it if its not to loud for you..115cfm Pana. They are what I use as rad fans..

If noise is a problem for you the extra rad surface that a 240 rad has would better allow the use of lower cfm fans, me personally I wouldn't use anything smaller then a 86cfm Pana on a rad...

.. Poll: Push or pull configuration for Radiators
