Just a quick question.....will a lapped cpu perform well with a bowed Apogee GT block ?

i recently bought an apogee gt

does the bowing help and is it just simply putting the thicker o ring on?

yes the bowing helps a little , 1-2c , it comes with a larger o-ring that forces the center of the blocks contact area to be bowed outwards creating less chance for a low spot when mounting to the ihs of your cpu...caution though , once bowed , it cannot be made flat again.

im not gonna lie to you , its a pain in the butt to get the larger o-ring to fit , but it can be done ....just have a little patience when doing it.

its a rubber o-ring the forces the contact surface of the water block to become slightly convex in order to facilitate better continuity between itself and the cpu's IHS
