Default De-Ionized water

Hello there guys. I am getting ready to setup a WC system. I purchased some De-ionized water today as I could not find Distilled water and De-ionized has pretty much the same properties...apart from being De-ionized lol.

I have read that De-ionized water will corride the blocks to get Ions back. Now surely all blocks corrode anywayafter a given amount of time and I have seen others used De-ionized. Is it the be all and end all using De-ionized water ?

No need to tell me Distilled would be best as I already understand that but thanks anyway.

What are your thoughts ?

Thanks.

I have been using it for the past year mate. I remember a watercooling guy shooting me a PM when I asked the same question.

He basically said that yes it does corrode it due to the transfer of ions, but the process is so slow that it is negligible. The parts will most probably wear about before you ever see any problems. I will try and find it for you

But no, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. To be honest, if you are that worried. Feser One is about £7 a pop and you should only need to use one liter of the stuff.

All petrol garages sell both distilled and de-ionzed. That is were I get mine from, de-ionized is used in batteries so it is common place in garages. But no, it won't be a problem.

Feser Water £5

With any UV additive £8

EDIT: Can't find it, the only ones I can find are the ones were I asked him whether I should put an anti-corrosive in it. He said it shouldn't be necessary, but I guess if you are that worried you could put some anti-corrisive in there as well

But like I say, my parts have been going strong for nearly a year now, and all I use is Feser One and top it up with de-ionized water.

Awesome...thanks dude..I will go ahead and use it then.

I actually went to Wilkinsons in town on the way to work as I dont get a chance to do anything after work. I went to the second floow where I had seen distilled before. I was like..''Jeez where has it gone'' then I saw De-ionized and I looked at its properties and realised surely its pretty much the same...apart from the difference I stated above.

Ok..well if its not that bad at all then I may not even bother with the feser..no need in putting anything extra in if not needed. However is Feser one just an additive you put into an already setup loop?

It's not an additive, it is a ready made coolant. It is just distilled water with a UV dye added in. But in every single test the thermal properties excel over the likes of distilled water and even the expensive FluidXP which is £20 a pop!

I could not hold the stuff in a more high regard. It is one of if not the best coolant out there and they still don't put the price tag up!

But nah, it is simply 1litre of distilled water with some UV dye in it. Saves you having to mix it yourself

But there will only be a few degrees difference between that and distilled/de-ionized water anyways. So if you cannot afford it then no worries, it isn't as if your temps will suck because you don't have it

Yeah...thanks dude. I already have the water...bought two bottles at £1.04 lol

I have some UV dye anyway so there is not really anything else I should need..which is cool.

Thanks again.

Yeah they do and its nice and cheap..I have the water and UV dye..all I need I think. Feser I may or may not get...does not seem like a MUST to be honest.

As for parts...all will be revealed once completed.
