Default GPU Blocks..Such Simple Designs

Well im just curious to find out why the designs for gpu blocks are rather simple as opposed to cpus..gpu blocks are like a piece of copper, centre dug out and then a couple of thick channels over where the gpu die would be. But GPUs make more heat that Cpus so why dont we see a gpu block with atleast a few precision micro channels like the EK Supreme or micro pins like the fuzion and stuff?..Is it because it would hike up gpu blocks prices even more..or is it some other reason??.

My guess is that 1) Price will go up alot, thats a ton of copper, and copper these days is getting expensive, along with the fact that milling that would take alot longer and more work. 2) GPU's can handle the heat alot better, how else could they run an 8800 GT with its tiny heatsink, and still be overclockable like a beast. There just is no need for more detailed work than what they have. Also I know GPU blocks are very flow restrictive, the extra chennels probably wouldnt help that out to much.

Im not exactly sure though, those are just my thoughts.

The GPU blocks have much less area to work with. A CPU block can be tall and such. A GPU block + video card must fit into only one or two slots.

Also, full coverage GPU blocks will only fit that one specific card. A more intricate design would take much more time to design and delay time to get to the market. With popular video cards changing every 6 months, you want to sell as many as you can first.

That is very true, never even thought of that, the changing market is what I would think stops them the most from just pumping out simple working designs while the market still uses that card.

well, thats where modular designs come in, like the DTek FuZion GFX v2 w/ Unisinks.

gpu blocks like the d-tek fuzion and the mcw60 use a design similar to their cpu counterparts'

exactly, thats the point. which makes them superior in terms of performance, although they will never look as awesome.
