Default First time watercooling for me

Ok after trying various air cooling my CPU was not at the temps I wanted it at. I have a QX6700 and that beast was running at 55c or higher not overclocked. So I decided to go the route of water cooling. Basically I am just looking for some advice on how to make things go as smooth as possible before I start this endeavor.

Hardware I am going to be cooling right now is my CPU and motherboard. I have the MSI P45 diamond that already came with waterblocks on it so I figured I would put that to use. I decided to go with Koolance for my first setup.

What what ive been told about water cooling don't ever go cheap on the parts. I don't personally have one but I thought waterblocks are supposed to cost about 50$ and I think stock almost everything is bad, but then again I dont have one. GL

Quality parts will make your system cool. If you cheap out you will 1) Risk killing your computer cause of leaks and 2) Not get better temps than air. I would recomend atleast $250 for a starter WC system. Dont buy kits (unless the kit is really individual parts put into a kit), instead buy individual parts. here are a list of real good WC sites.

www.jab-tech.com
www.petrastechshop.com
www.frozencpu.com
www.dangerden.com

There are others, but I found those to have some of the cheapest prices.

Hit up Petra's like the above post said those kits are a lot nicer. I do find it funny that everybody is saying not to get cheap parts and go with a more expensive kit when the Exos is $399usd lol.
If you are willing to spend that much then you might as well build yourself a custom WC kit that owns the Exos.

There is a difference between cheap as in low cash, and cheap as in quality. Koolance is no good in quality, but there stuff looks good to people and looks expensive, so they charge that nice premium on it. You can get parts that are inexpensive but good quality (Apogee GT for example) and not have to worry about a shotty assembly.
