Default Water cooling has lost its cooling

Ok, I have this Q6600 and I had it in an old crap Abit IN9-MAX motherboard and I had it running at 3.0GHz and stock volts and it ran arround 35° for a CPU temp and my coolant never got much over room temp so I am sure it was right.

I have now moved the Q6600 to a DFI X48-T2RS motherboard and now with it running at 3.0GHz and all volts the same as the old one it wants to run at 50° at idle.

The thing is my coolant temp still never got much over room temp. I've set countless CPUs but just to make sure I've re-applied the AS5 several times and it always comes out the same. I don't have a preasure gauge in the loop but it still seems to have a decent flow rate.

I did not make any modifications to my loop. I don't think there is any pieces inside the Appogee that I could have knocked loose, but its been a while since I've had it apart. The springs have good tension and the cap screws are on tight as well.

Think that maybe the Appogee can't fit tight on this new DFI board? I can't see why not...it is not hitting any thing that I can see. I don't think it is misreading the temps since multiple sensor programs all show the same thing...unless there is a problem with the sensors them selves.

Sounds like a mis-match or glitch with the temp probe and the software or drivers. What programs have you used to display the temp?

I've used Everest and Speedfan...OCCT shows the same core temps as everest.

I've reset the Appogee several times and the temp of the water is 28° at the moment

If the temps are being read correctly, it is as if the heat is not transfering to the waterblock

This always happens when you upgrade your motherboard. It happens to everyone. When I switched from P35 to X48, I got a 10C overall increase in temps. Reseating might drop temps by a degree or so.

I've changed mother boards before with no trouble...this Appogee has been on at least five different mother boards and three different CPUs

Have you ever tried "Real Temp"... Download Real Temp 2.5 ..It has a little test to see if your sensors are stuck maybe thats all it is....

Feel the your block and see if it feels a little warmer then ambient, if it does your transferring heat off the chip, if not there is probably something up with the mount..

I got a sensor movement of 8...

I have been "feeling up" my water block all night and it is a little warm, but with these temps it should be fairly hot. It must not be able to seat correctly. I'll have to take it out of the case and get a side view of the situation

HaHa......Yeah I'd just take it off and make sure its on the chip flat..I always bottom out my springs to get a good tight mount...
