So I just got my order from Jab-Tech today and I have a slight problem. My D-tek Fuzion has a stripped hex screw on the bottom. I need to install the Universal Mount, so I HAVE to get this thing on. I know I can glue the hex key that came with the thing in the stipped screw and then turn it out that way, but I need to know what thread and length those screws are. Then I can run to a Home Depot or Lowes and pick up 4 normal screws to replace the 4 that came with it. I know I have seen people talking about doing this type of mod, but never mention size. Need help fast, want to get this stuff hooked up soon, and I am not going to start my leak tests and such till I hav that mount on.

Just take one of the screws with you to the store, you can always get longer ones and cut them down if you have to...

The problem is I dont have the tools to cut it down. So I need them to be the right size. And if not perfect, does it matter if they are slightly longer? Ive yet to take out the stripped screw to see the inside so I dont know how much clearence I have.

No, I have the CPU block, not the gfx block. I found 4 normal screws that are the correct thread but are slightly shorter. They go into the receving part of the block and you can not pull the block apart. Should I find longer ones or do you think ill be ok?

RMA the block man... its not worth the trouble if you don't have the tools to make it right

I am testing it. The shortness is not very much, and it shouldnt matter. Currently I have no leaks, and I had to use a hcaksaw to cut a slot in the old screw, so I doubt they are gonna be happy with me for doing that. If it comes down to it, I can use the old screw and just use it with the slot.

No need to RMA the block. D-Tek will send you a new set of screws. Alternatively, you can just ask them for the screw specs.
