Post So confused on what to buy for my E8400

I have no idea what to do

i have on air with a cooper butter fly cpu cooler my cpu at 3.38 ghz. like 59c on load...

i want to hit like 5ghz or even 5.5 as high as i can go.

i dont see anything or maybe im scared they wont do the job right but the stuff on tigerdirect and newegg seem cheap or will do the same job that my copper air one does now.

i dont really have a budget but i also dont wanna go super crazy. Any help would be nice.

I have a Asus Rampage x48 motherboard

i am new to water cooling but i have a nice large case, good setup, now i wanna get some extreme water cooling.

heres my 3dmark06 results

and even on air im #1 on 3dmark06 in my same cpu/vid card.

Something like this would make a middle of the road real decent CPU only loop..

Commercial..D-tek Fuzion V2 ..Custom, These are what I use..Stinger WB's

..D-5 Vario

..240 GTX ...For performance use at least this size fan..86cfm Pana ..These are what I use on mine.115cfm Pana ..Shrouds will help with that rad, cheapest few C you can get in WC'ing...

..Part-1-480 GTX-Temps W & W/O Shrouds

..Poll: Push or pull configuration for Radiators

..How To: Make any Sized shroud in 2 minutes

..How To: Build A Performance Shroud

Res.5.25" Bay Res ..Or just use a T-Line...

Use this on 1/2" barbs..7/16x5/8" ....It will flow about as well as the full 1/2" stuff and is more compact...

Or this for the full size....1/2x3/4"

Coolant...Pentosin ..Biocide..PT Nuke ..

Automotive clamps or 2 or 3 zip-ties on each barb...

I'll leave you a few things to look over and my cleaning and set-up PDF, be sure to read all the stickies here also...Take you time and do some parts research and you might be better able to find whats right for your needs..Take your time setting up and leak test it well...

..D-Tek Fuzion install tip! (Or why you should clean new blocks)

Swiftech H220

Although I'm pretty sure a TRUE or IFX-14 (both air-coolers) can get you the same temps.

If you want good watercooling, though, the only way to go is make a loop yourself. No company will includea D-tek Fuzion or 480GTX in their premade loops..

If you buy what he said, then you would have everything you need.

What's the difference? Answer, nothing.

Please avoid a kit... you will be glad in the long run. I bought a $400 case with a built-in loop (first time water-cooler at the time). It took about 3 months before I ripped out the built-in system and started modding my own custom loop into the case.

Do some research - you can never do enough! - and plan your own loop. It's not as hard or dangerous as some people think. You will be glad you did!
