Default Which Temp. To Trust?

Hey Guys, I have been overclocking my CPU. Trying to get up to 4Ghz. But I am stumped right now. Core temp shows my CPU at 58c, so I went ahead and reseated my water block. After that I booted it back up and got the same temps. Then I downloaded real temp and it shows my CPU at (I think) a more accurate temp.... Which should I trust?

I have been told for 65nm procs, use coretemp, for 45nm procs, use realtemp.

Either way, make sure to test your sensors using realtemp to be sure.

What are you using to cool? 55c sounds about right for a quad at 3.0....

Go with Coretemp and also try Hardware Monitor those seem to be the most accurate for the q6600.

I am using the 480GTX, D-Tek Fuzion v1 block, Danger Den GPU WB, 4x 120x38mm Sunons, and a Laing D5 MCP655 pump. I am using AC MX-2 as my TIM.

I don't really know Pope, just from what I've heard Real Temp is the way to go for the 45nm...How does Speed-Fan read on your quad? Thats my old stand-by there, it didn't work very well on the 5000BE an it doesn't work very well on this one either...Suuux....

Speed-Fan reads 61c, 57c, 55c, 60c... Bios is reading 35c.. I am going to download Everest and see what it says...

Go with the Coretemp. It's the most accurate reading software imop
FanSpeed just doesn't do it... It's always been way off with temps on my rig(Q6600)

Alright. Everest, Coretemp, and speedfan, are reporting about the same temp. So I guess I am going to have to go with Coretemp on this one. I am going to apply some AS5 and see if that makes a difference.
