Also, why is the Black Ice cooler (3x120mmm) so much more than the Swiftech (3x120mmm) ? Reservoir: Bitspower 5.25" Bay Reservoir POM Version - Black ($44.95) http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=23550 Coolant: UV Reactive Pentosin G11 Coolant Additive (Blue) ($4.50/4oz.) http://www.petrastechshop.com/peg11coadb4o.html (How much do I need of this? How much do I need of this?) Total cost: ~$400… --------------------------- Questions --------------------------- -Where can I trim to save money? I will save up to spend this much, if I can rest assured that this setup will last me for years to come and that this setup is a high end one... -Would this setup be relatively quiet? My GPU fan is the culprit of most of the noise... -Would my current temps go down a lot? 8800GT load: 65C Q6600 GO load: 35C -Is it worth it to get a full coverage block on the 8800gt? (Are full coverage blocks usable on other cards?) - For the GPU block that I currently have selected, can this be used for future ATi/Nvidia cards? -Recommendations on GPU RAM blocks? -Why reservoirs when T-lines are cheaper? -Do I need a shroud? -Is it better to have the WC equipment outside the case, or inside? -Which rad box should I get to attach my radiator to the back of my Rocketfish case?

Not a fan of that bay resevoir.
__________________I would go with the bitspower bay or alphacool bay from performancepcs/frozen Bitspower bay has multiple ports in the back for 5mm led lighting & a few extra holes for nifty things like temp screw in, etc. I believe they are like $35-42 Everything else looks awesome. If I had to do coolant over again for blue, which I will, I would go with something thats royal blue.

looks like the Bitspower Bay goes for around $60.

1 - Not sure you can and have it last for years if you plan on upgrading. 2 - That really depends on what fans you get, quieter fans will not perform as well as louder ones (in general). 3 - On your video card almost definitely, you may not notice much as far as your CPU if you aren't overclocking/overvolting. 4 - You wont be able to reuse full coverage blocks on a different model card, not to mention they are harder to get seated properly compared to using ram sinks and a block for just the GPU. 5 - The block you have selected works on a variety of cards from Nvidia and ATi, check Dtek's specifications about specific models. 6 - For what video card? 7 - Resoviors will bleed much faster than T lines, it is nice to have both, res to fill and bleed and a T line to drain the loop. 8 - A shroud is an easy and inexpensive way to get a good performance increase out of a watercooling system. It is not required but you will notice a temperature difference. 9 - Inside is harder to do, takes up inside space, and in some cases you may have hot air (hotter than ambient) from your radiator going into the case. An external radiator doesn't have these problems but it will be easier to damage an external radiator, it often requries more tubing than an internal radiator, and it will increase the amount of space your case takes up. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Edit: For radiators I suggest Panaflos or Ultra Kazes, if you are not willing to spend that much you could settle for some Yate Loons but 120x38mm fans (first ones listed) will have better static air pressure.

Not sure about which block provides better temps. I know that the Dtek blocks are fairly low restriction so they tend to do better in multi block loops. The Dtek is pretty much the standard now, don't think you can really go wrong with it.
That has 3 fans, the 3 25mm (the thinner ones) fans are actually gutted, they are using them as a shroud. I'll find a link to explain, hang on. Edit: http://www.overclock.net/faqs/122205...hroud-2-a.html

oddly enough, the person who gutted those fans should of just used them instead of shrouds as a push/pull which is more optimized than a pull with shrouds. ![]()
