Question DFI 790fx-m2rs Need a NB Chipset block, what will fit? (size restriction)

Hey.

Im planning on getting a water cooling kit, My Northbridge runs excessivly hot, so im after a waterblock for that.

Does anyone know what will fit? because i have a DFI board, and if you look at the attached photo, you will see i only have 30mm to work with, due to some annoying capacitors being RIGHT NEXT to it

MASSIVE propz to anyone who can help me find something!

Check this page they have many blocks for NB/SB chipsets...while there may not be one made SPECIFICALLY for that MB , you can surely find one here that will work for you.

I also found this chart that may help you also.

You may have to do some simple modding to get one to fit , but it shouldnt be that hard to do...they told me i would never get a Swiftech MCW-30 to fit on my Asus M2n32-sli Deluxe SB with an sli setup , but i did.

I was going to suggest that as well , but after using them , ive found there are much better cooling blocks out there....plus , it is an aging design...no fins or textures of any kind are inside...just a flat smooth surface...still might work for you though.

Chart appears to be for nforce chipsets, no AMD 790fx on it. had a look at list of items, some could potentially work.

Thanks to DemonPizzaboy for mentioning Swiftech MCW-30, after having a look at it, id say it seems IDEAL, very nice size, and comes with raisers to mount above capactors. Looks perfect, need to check so final details with it tho.

Will let ya all know how i get on
