good info. +rep
would have come in handy 1 1/2 years ago.
i would also add info about the diameter of the tubing and how it effects temps and what you need to buy. MAKE SURE YOUR TUBING DIAMETER MATCHES YOUR BARBS!!!! :P

You are talking about a difference of 1-2C for about 35-40dBa worth of noise at that point as well as a significant drop in pressure. The 480ER has so much less restriction than the 480GTX, that even though at high levels the GTX does beat it out by neglible delta T, the 480ER still comes out on top. That's why I chose to eschewed the 480GTX for the 480ER in that loop...not to mention the 480ER just looks sooo much better and comes with a bleed cap!
The GTX beats out the TFC with 80+ cfm fans, not exactly loud, or high cfm by any stretch of the imagination...Thats a medium cfm fan.Panaflo 120x38mm 86cfm Medium Speed FBA12G12M1BX ..

The GTX beats out the PA with 47+ cfm fans, so unless your running under-volted YL's its a lot better rad...360 GTX Beats PA.3 w/47cfm Fans

If your worried about noise get some low speed Pana, no sleeve bearings in them...Panaflo 120x38mm 69 cfm Ultra Quiet FBA12G12L1Bx

Punch in wattages and fan rpm and get the results for the rads just minus out 25% for the PA rad to get it equal to the 480's...Its a fact not opinion..Any of these 3 rads are going to require higher cfm fans to dissapate much heat...Remember that you want a 5C and under rad out to ambient delta for good performance..

..Thermochill PA120.3 Thermal Testing Done

..HWlabs 480GTX thermals-Martin

..TFC 480ER Radiator Test Results

EDIT: The TFC rad calc is in here....Several New Radiator Estimator Spreadsheets

There are more rad calc's here.Radiator Thermals and Radiator Calculators - Martin ..I'm glad Martin has made these, its some good stuff for anyone interested in rad heat dissapation...Now if your just going to have a 200W load on a rad just get a cheap 360 rad...

I run 115 Pana and they aren't loud, there are several here running Delta's..If another rad comes out that will beat the GTX by a good margin with higher cfm fans I'll be all over it, no matter who makes it...Other then that it looks pretty good...

LOL... well loudness is a subjective term. To me, anything beyond 30dBa is a bit loud and for Panaflo that would be 65cfm. On my GTX I use 7v Scythe S-Flex E fans, which makes them 12dba/29cfm. I put the THC 480ER ahead of the 480GTX because of restriction and negligible difference in temperature. I also listed the 480GTX under other accessories because I know that some people still prefer it Even martin agreed thought, that for the most part, THC 480ER is the new king of radiators with near optimal temperatures at severely lower restriction.

Maybe for light heat loads...The 480 GTX is about as restrictive as a unjetted V1 Fuzion, not exactly what I would call restrictive......

Try out those rad calcs and see for yourself, that takes all the opinion out of it..

HaHa...I wore you down...I'm kidding, there all good rad rads, just depends on what your looking for, they all over lap each other in parts of the fan cfm and wattage ranges...The single row GTS is the rad thats really restrictive, the GTX isn't bad at all...

Yes you did LOL... arguing against you about what fans are loud falls on deaf ears, which might actually be true since you listen to your jet turbine Panaflo's all day. The only thing I like about the GTS series is that they come in different colors.

Post updated to include radiator comparison, tubing price list, information about tubing size, and addition of mcmaster-carr to stores...this is quickly transcending a post to give advice of what parts to purchase to an all out water cooling guide... maybe i should change the title?
