quick question , i know this is water cooling and thas the reason why im in the thread but i see some of you guys running 1000mhz plus over stock with 1.29 or similar voltages?? How is this, is it because the CPU is just that much better or you tweak other voltages instead to not have to run up the vcore?

Intel cpus generally can overclock really high even on stock voltages. What water cooling does is remove the first limiter of overclocking, which is the temperature.

i asked the question because im struggling to Oc my q6600 anywhere above 3.1ghz and right now i have to run 1.48v, i have one of the VID 1.32 ones and although that doesn't mean it sucks.. it doesn't mean i need more votls.. but man i just cant get nothing to boot or run stable unless i use voltages in that area.. Thank you though

you think? i had that in mind too but i have a doubt.. is the vcore required for a certain cpu the same throughout all mobos used? Or some mobo's will be stable at lower cpu voltages and others need more?? I thought that what the mobo influenced the most votlage wise, is the NB and SB voltage and maybe CPU GTL or other things like that. But to answer my own question the mobo is the one delivering the voltage so some mayb do better jobs than others..

vcore is handled by the NB chip of the motherboard. all the cpu does is take in the voltage being supplied by the motherboard.
