Default [Project] LL v1000+2 WC

This probably won't be much of a log because I plan (key word) on getting her done this weekend (hopefully.. knock on wood and all that). I waited a good long time to get all my components in and will start some system tests tomorrow. Leak testing now.

Here's the grocery list:
  • Swiftech MCP355 3.2 (18w)
  • XSPC reservoir top
  • Thermochill PA120.2
  • D-Tek Fuzion v2
  • D-Tek GFX 2
  • 4-YL 88cfm fans (push/pull)
  • Tygon hoses
  • D-Tek high flow fittings
  • Pentosin G11 and PT nuke

Hardware (sig)...
  • Phenom x4 9950
  • ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe 790FX/SB750
  • VisionTek HD 4870
  • LG Blu-Ray Opt.
  • 500 and 640 WD AAKS
  • mushkin XP Ascent 1066 (4GB)

...All in a V1000 plus II Lian Li. I really like the case but it's very limited for WC configurations. That's why I had to go with a 120.2 radiator. Just couldn't fit anything bigger and keep it internal. I know the biggest gripe is going to be that I'm running a AMD quad that I plan to OC AND have a 4870 in the same loop with that rad. I'm hoping the massive amount of air I will be pushing will help. I figure even with the overclock, I'm in the 350watts/heat area. I remember reading something Martin wrote about a 120mm of a good radiator should be able to dissipate 180W of heat with a good fan. I guess I will be putting that theory to the test. Like I said. I would love to use a 3x120mm radiator but just can't without ditching my stealthy goals.

Will be going out for the night so hopefully I will be able to update tomorrow as I get her going... Here are some early snapshots of the leak testing. The lazy mutts are my two weenie dogs (father and son). About the only thing they are good for is sitting on my lap and any laps that come over, barking at the mailman and doing tricks for cookies (dog biscuits). Gotta love em though.

where do you plan on putting that rad? you could check out my valkyrie build log to do something similar with your rad. you would actually have more room that i did.

Actually with the v1000 I have less room to work with. From what I understand the v1200 is a stretched version of the 1000. A 360 rad is about as long as my entire case give or take a 1/2" or so. So an internal 360 was pretty much out of the question.

That is one hell of a log you did. Nice job on that!

Mine is going to be more simplistic. Probably will get started here soon after I back some stuff up. I should be posting up plenty of pictures then.

Will do for sure. I plan on making it a clean, stealthy type build. No massive amounts of LEDs or anything like that. I have a couple CC UV lights on hand that I am debating on using. Couldn't hurt to toggle them in I guess.

I started with no lights in my V2000, but had a couple of AC Ryan 12" cathodes lying around that I stuck in....lasted all of a week before I grew tired of them and got rid of them.

Here are some more pictures. Most of my planning, figuring and cutting is out of the way. Just have to wait for my dremel to recharge before I clean things up a little more.

A shot of most of my components.

Closeup of the WC goodies.

My mad jigsaw skill on display.

The grill mocked up.

..with the filport cut in.

Another angle.

DDC mounting idea snagged from Ira.

Motherboard set it for cable management planning.

How my pump/res will sit.
