Some of you may have seen these already, but I just came across them on Sidewinder computers website and want to share them with everyone.
They look sweet and the price is not bad if you think of how many of us (me included) have purchased new 120x38 fans just to cut the guts out of them to make shrouds for our rads. There are 3 diff. LED light colors to choose from, but I have the sexy red one linked below. Blue and green being the other 2 colors. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/fetfcxtrash11.html But here's a pic anyway.. Is this sexy... ![]()

Yeah those are nice...But then you wouldn't have to hunt down surplus 120x38mm fans, not nearly as much fun..
..Its getting hard to find fans cheap enough to gut anymore..I might get some of those myself next time I need some..

But dear god, they're expensive as hell. $18 for a piece of acrylic in the shape of a carved out fan? I'll take some cheap 120x38mm and drill it out over this anyday.

For anything other than a single rad they will still suck ass. With a shroud you don't what that center divider as between the fans. That prevents airflow from evenly cooling the radiator.

Yeah your right they might not fit a bigger rad then a single very well..What I do with gutted fans is run a little bead of silicone on the edges where they meet, that keeps them air tight, then of course the shroud to rad has to be sealed and the fan to shroud..A rad has a little off set from the face of it, that makes sure the airflow is pulled evenly across the whole rad as long as its all sealed up..I even get real freaky and use thin neoprene between the core and the outer casing to keep any air from bypassing the core itself, I always have scrap neoprene from the TEC..

Oh man to get enough of these for my radiator would cost me $80 just for colorful acrylic shrouds...
WHAT THE #%($, Honestly? They are beautiful but not for $18 per shroud.

here is a better idea... thick 38 mm slab of polycarbonate and a router. 10 minutes later, you got a perfect shroud.

Hmmm ... you've got me thinking now ...
I could send it to the brother to WaterJet cut at the shop ... 38mm = 1.496058 inches ... basically 1.5 inches. Mcmaster has a 12" x 12" x 1.5" sheet for $64.79 each. Part Number: 8560K912 However, Martin's tests showed that a 30mm thickness appeared to be optimal. 30mm = 1.181099 inches ... about 1-3/16 inches McMaster has a 12" x 12" x 1.25 inch available for a little less ... $52.36 each. Part Number: 8560K381 You could easily make Four 120mm shrouds ... or two 240mm shrouds with that sheet.

On the other hand it requires quite a bit of skill to be able to create such a thing from such large acrylic panels
