Hey guys I've been trying to decide what I should do here..
I can get a Apogee GTZ, and a Swiftech MCP-665 Pump and a res all for $110 total shipped.. it's a decent deal.. but then I need a RAD and a few other things. I'd only be cooling my CPU for now, but later I could see myself getting into the GPU and cooling it also. But. I'm also getting a TRUE delivered here in a few days. So my question is, is water-cooling really "THAT" much better.. or is it more the Loads that get that much cooler? Water is risky, expensive, and needs some upkeep and close attention. and Air does not. The TRUE with some sweet fans are the best you can get.. So should I spend the $200 or so and all the work, and risk for water-cooling, or is that only going to be SLIGHTLY better than the TRUE (Lapped) and not really worth it. I have the Tuniq now, but the TRUE beats it with a solid 4-6 degree's and I'll also be throwing it on some Shin Etsu instead of the AS5. What does everyone think. Thanks!

As it is now, it seems that you are willing to pay $70+ on a cooler that at best can only cool 2-3°c than your current cooler. With that in mind, I think that you'd be willing to spend $200+ in order to achieve better cooling. I personally have never used water, but it seems that the difference that water can make is more noticeable while under load.

I went from a lapped Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with a Panaflo H1 to the current setup in my sig. Temps dropped over 10C on load (55C -> 43C). I'd say it's worth it.

At this time you will probably notice maybe 5-6C difference in temperatures max. The main difference is you can achieve that for a lot less noise than a jet engine panaflo.

Thats exactly what I'll have.. panafla H1 the 103CFM..
We'll it's already on it's way to me.. Water would be nice. and sure sounds great to get those temps and all. but it sounds risky. plus don't you have to clean it every few months and maintain it.. I don't know. I'd love to do water. but just seems like so much. or is it easier than it sounds once you learn your info. Plus the True was NOT $70. and if the Panaflo is really really loud. I'll get 2 low noise fans for it instead. but right now I have a FM121 110CFM airflow fan at 55% as rear. those are pretty loud and it's ok right now.

water is better if setup correctly and your ambients inside your room are cool all year around. It is also better at load. And water is not really all that risky if managed correctly.
Lets put it is this way, I was at radioshack and outta a impulse buy I bought a Thermal Take kit (dont make the same mistake) and had no prior WC exp at all. I set it up and did not leak or cuase damage in any way. Its like flying in a jet, yeah theres a possability you could crash and die, but becuase the aircraft is maintained properly and piloted by good pilots odds are you wont. Just like water cooling. Learn as much as you can first, then when installing it take your time and double or triple check everything first. Then leak test it to make sure it does not leak. THEN install it into your case. As far as maintanence its not bad at all. In fact if you use just distilled + PT nuke you really dont have to do anything to do it for like a year as long as nothing decides to grow in it.

I see.. well I'm going to try out the TRUE and see how it goes.
I also think I'm going to get 2 Scythe Slipstream SY1225SL12H 88CFM at 33dBA Fans.. as they are the best noise/Air ratio. and they are only 8 dollars. Would 2 of these in a Push Pull work better than that ONE Panaflo H1 103CFM Airflow?
