Is watercooling really quieter than air? I've always thought the pump would at least be noisy (or maybe it's just the pump that drives water to our shower).

If you are installing liquid cooling so that you can boost performance, then I would say, "No".

One can install passive, or liquid cooling and then run fans (where applicable) on low for a quieter environment.
