I am more interested in a "chip in the brain"-solution and a F@H client that runs on it. People could use the idle cycles of their brains to fold.

Hi! My first post here at Overclock.net!

Thanks very much for the compliments on my pump. FYI, it was designed for performance first, looks second...er maybe not at all . I'm a professional cooling squint , a degreed mechanical engineer, and an automotive refrigeration, heating, engine cooling research and design engineer. My point is that I know how to test, and the pump design was developed by testing and refining with the use of simple DOE methods. The pump for sale is v26, which is a refined version of v21, so really it took 20 iterations to reach the current state. This was not a shot in the dark, it was a lot of hard work, a bucket load of failed designs, many hours of prototype CNC coding.

Oh, and how about that CyberDruid? Wow, amazing that this guy would do so much legwork to get this thing out there in front of you guys Thank you very much CD!

The pump curve:

Hey there, welcome! How'd you hear about OCN?

The pump looks fantastic, and apparently it performs extremely well, and it's much quieter than the stock top! I've got two ordered from Cyberdruid, so expect a review (or rather, a bunch of pictures) from me in a few weeks

Cudos to both you and CD.

I've been following your design progress on this top over at Xtremesystems for quite awhile. But when my order from CD arrived today, I was floored by its simplistic beauty.
This top performs way beyond what I had imagined. A simple bucket test puts the stock D5 @ 2.5 gallons per minute, while yours pushed 5 gallons per minute.
I was so shocked that I ran the test 3 times.

Hey Dryadsoul, thanks for the kind words, I'm glad it's working well for you.

From your pictures, it looks like the stock O-ring is still on the motor face, there is a big gap under the four wedge shaped clamps. I think that may leak eventually, the stock O-ring won't seal to the head in the area of the exit channel, and should be removed. The four clamps should be able to be screwed down until they contact the block.

I looked for optional O-ring and found none. Are you telling me that no O-ring is required? If so you might want to include an install schematic for this top.
When I prefit the top to pump it seemed uneven and unwilling to seat under pressure, hence the use of the original O-ring.

There is an o-ring that came installed in the top, but it's in a recessed groove so it's not readily apparent. The motor housing shouldn't just drop right in, you have to hold the motor fairly square with the pump housing and then push it in, you'll feel and hear a satisfying little click as the motor compresses the O-ring and pops into place.

I definiately may need to include a schematic and some instructions, others are bound to have this confusion too, thanks for the heads up Dryadsoul

Edit: I forgot to attach a pic of the o-ring, but look at the OP's next to the last picture in post #1
