ok so i need a list of stuff to get...

3xPVC pipe either 4' or 6' tall, with differing diameters.
3x "Sanitary Tees"
1x/3x shower head - haven't decided if i'll test different shower heads yet, but i'm assuming different diameter tower's wont have any difference unless they have a wider shower head...
1x 120mm fan
PSU
res made of... PVC? Not decided = input needed

Get a large camping cooler for your res like Nub has...it will keep the water at temp better then my tupperware tote.

You want 1/2"ID tubing.

get one of those tiny misting shower heads that swimming pools have for your small PVC
get a regular plastic supermarket shower head for the 4" pvc
get a large "rain style" shower head for a larger PVC. (might cost a bit but you could also make one.)

one problem you are gonna run into is that PVC comes in very long lengths and you might be forces do buy a full stick of each diameter you need. That will suck.

When your done building them you should keep the best one and sell one and give the worst one away as a freebie...or sell both you don't want and get your money back from the build...its gonna be a good amount of work man..I wish you lived near me I would come over and help ya.

lol it's for a school project so i don't think my teacher would appreciate physical help... but anyway. Yeah basically i don't care what the res's performance is, as long as it's the same throughout each test. Cheapest possible.

Would a res made out of PVC be hard/worth it?

How would i go about attaching the tower to the res?

just FMI, what does the ID in 1/2" ID tubing mean? and will a normal hardware store have barbs for the pump/shower head?

and yeah... I will either sell or freebie the bongs away... most likely freebie, unless it ends up costing me heaps. But either way that will be all three, since for each round of testing i will cut 1' off the bongs, and by the end of it they will be practically useless. So I'll just build a "perfect" bong for myself along with a waterblock etc...

and finally FYI, to clear things up, the project is comparing and graphing the cooling efficiency of bongs at different diameters and heights.

I suggest you use 4", 6" and if you can find it 8" pvc pipe. The most common sort of reservoir is made by cutting off a foot or so of your length of pvc pipe, and putting the Wye or san Tee fitting in between this shorter piece and the longer piece.
If you did it that way, you could make or find a frame to attach all 3 bong coolers to - next to eachother.

For height I suggest you make them all have 3' high coming out of the wye or san tee. That would give an overall height of about 4'6" to 5'.
I say this because you will need to move them right? It is a lot easier to move a 5' tall thing with a very small reservoir than to move an 8' bong with a 40 gallon res....
