ok so my theory is if you capped the top would a lot of the rising water collect and dribble back down. I wouldnt imagine it would stop water loss but i wonder if it would slow it down dramatically or not. Has anyone tried this? Someone with bong experience please gimme your opinion. If its a moronic idea lemme know lol

No, that would defeat the purpose of the bong. This works through evaporation, if you stop the evaporation, well... bad things will happen to your CPU...

it would still be evaporating the cold evaporated air would just recondense into cold water.

that would take far too long... the hot air/water vapour must escape the chamber/tower or the air in the tower will remain hot - which in turn will mean the water won't evaporate. After a few minutes temps will skyrocket.

well notice there is an air escape at top its not a second fan. almost like just running it out at an angle instead of verticle but having a lil dome just to save some of the water not everything. Im just trying to limit waterloss to make it more daily friendly ya know?

well so long as there is a hole at the top then it should be ok... but any water that condenses at the top and slowly dribbles back down will be reducing the rate of cooling of the new water coming from the CPU.

could u explain that to me?(im being honest) to me i dont see how the water coming back down and probably just re evaporating will effect the other water in the air but im new to this so if u could help me picture it it would be appretciated.

well that air that hits the top and condenses is transferring that heat from the water to the air to make it condense, right? So that will be making the air inside the tower hotter, which will lessen the cooling effect of the new water coming from the CPU.
In a conventional open top bong, that hot water and air just flies straight out the top - clean, gone. With a top on it, at least some of that heat is being trapped inside, which raises the ambient temperature and obviously lessens the cooling power for new water. sorry that's not the best answer i can give but you get the idea right?
