I installed it on my Maximus Formula today...I made sure to get some pics out because I couldn't find conclusive info whether this top fit the MF or not......
It was a really close call for one of the caps. It was about 1/2mm too short to make contact with the bottom of the block top ![]() Here is the Enzotech cooler I got for the SB.....the holes were a bit too far away, so I popped off the push pins and used thermal tape. I've seen some use Arctic thermal adhesive, but I didn't want a permabond. ![]() The heatpipe was really easy to get off. You would have to be really careless to pop off the IHS or the entire NB like I've seen others do....I was weary about doing this but it's no problem. I used a hair dryer, and covered the nearby caps to prevent heat damage. It popped off with a rotated screwdriver. Some have used circuit freezer spray, but I didn't have to resort to that. ![]() The TIM is a nightmare to get off....it's really thermal glue. I had to get acetone (fingernail polish remover) to do it. Isopropyl alcohol wasn't doing anything. Before ![]() After ![]() Block installed and CPU block reinstalled ![]()

Awesome! I cant wait to see temps, as I am doing a simular setup on my Maximus Formula when all the parts get here.
One question, is the cooler on the southbridge and on the mosfets part of the original cooler that came with the board?

That's quite a turn you got there without coils...nice! I'm in the process of re-working La Agua right now, adding a radiator and a NB block to my DFI X48. I will post a thread on it in a few days or so...everything (minus the order from petras...damn cali shipping) is still in the cleaning phase.

Well this block is great........temps don't even budge while running Everest stress with all of the boxes checked except HDDs.....nice. I got 40-46C with the stock cooler and a 120mm Yate pointed at it......so 28C is nice. ![]() ![]() Quote:
I took all of my kinking off because it breaks so easily.... I also replaced a few lengths of tubing because it was nasty. I cleaned out my Fuzion and found some gunk in there too...... I used a bit too much Feser dye last time I guess, which is easy because it's really strong.

Nice! Im actually running an experiment with some different coolant mixtures right now because when I took my setup apart there was some nasty corrosion on the barbs, and some gross buildup in the CPU and GPU blocks. Ive remixed the coolant I used, and made like 4 more mixes just to have different results, put a barb in each of them, and im letting them sit. Documenting (without pics sadly) all of it. This is day two so far.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I was using feser purple.
